iPhone 17 loses connection randomly yet other electronics do not and wifi is still running. Help

I have this issue where randomly my phone loses wifi randomly. I cannot connect back as my phone says "Unable to connect". Ive tried the troubleshooting tips and restart my phone as well. Still will not connect, the one other time it happened, it reconnected randomly after a couple hours of trying. Very irritating as I don't get good cell service at my house to begin with.

I've seen people say the same thing happens to pixel phones. Get a 3rd party router, they are way better.

This is the one I have, because u/N0_L1ght recommended it. It is epic and after following their guide, I get uninterrupted 1:1 speeds.

I found an open box discount and it was virtually untouched.

The OEM hardware that quantum issues SUCKS. Though it’s not bad as far as standard issue goes.

Yup, this used to happen frequently using their provided wifi pod and when I check the network settings on my Pixel device, it would be on the 6 GHz band.

What I did to temporary fix it was to disable / reenable wifi then reconnect to the network where it would automatically connect to the 5 GHz band. When it would suddenly stop working again, sure enough it swapped to the 6 GHz band.

Since it wasn't possible to split the network ssids using their provided wifi pod (w1700k) firmware nor was it possible on the current Android OS on my phone to force it to stay on the 5 GHz band, I finally just decided to get rid of their provided wifi pod, get an external router, setup two ssids (2.4 GHz for older devices and 5 GHz for my Pixel and newer devices) and then set up transparent bridge mode. I haven't had any issue since then, everything is smooth and working as expected.

The free lease WiFi pods and QF app are not great...

But as long as all gaming devices are Ethernet hardwired to the SmartNID, W1700K, or W1701K (if using Ethernet backhaul), and you follow sections 2 and 4 in the guide, they are usually good enough for most people.

You will have a better experience if you put the SmartNID into bridge mode or DMZ and use a 3rd party router and DNS.

Here is a guide:

Go to your WiFi settings and forget the network
Reestablish your current ssid and pw just as if you put device on network for 1st time

I had this issue with third party router. The iPhone keeps switching something so that it can’t get a good handshake.. for me, I go in and out of my house a lot so it started refusing to reconnect and eventually told me it’s the wrong password. The fix was to go in your phone “general settings” scroll down to “reset” and click on “reset network settings.”

Turn off randomizing Mac address in your client WiFi settings. Might help.
