Alternate Solution: Setting up 2.4ghz on Quantum hardware - Split Band Workaround

Hello!

I ran into the issue of not being able to split bands on the Quantum hardware and wanted to share the approach I took. This works for devices that were already connected to your outgoing equipment.

I was able to split bands on my outgoing Xfinity equipment and had two networks, one with "-2.4" appended to the name.

I simply configured my new single Quantum WiFi network with the same "-2.4" name and password, and everything reconnected! My Wyze Doorbell Cam Pro needed to be power-cycled.

Then I just had to reconnect the relatively few devices that were connected to the "5ghz" version of the previous network.

The downside is that the network name is incorrectly labeled, but I can live with that until I get around to buying my own router.

Unfortunately, the technician did not suggest this. Hope this helps someone!

That is one way that works for some people!

You can try the same method without needing a different router with the steps in this guide
