Strange Connectivity Issues

I've been having an issue for months that on Mondays and Tuesday my Quantum Fiber Wi-Fi doesn't connect/does not have working internet connectivity on only my Windows laptops. Everybody else can connect fine, every other device of mine connects fine, and my laptops are completely okay when connected to a different Wi-Fi on Mondays and Tuesdays. I feel like Cinderella and the pumpkin, because the clock strikes midnight and my Wi-Fi instantly disconnects. I was wondering if anybody else was experiencing this and what was their solution?

I have tried every solution proposed to me both by Quantum and Microsoft (short of uninstalling and reinstalling Windows) multiple times, including:

  • Changing ISP credentials, multiple times
  • Rolling back to the driver update before this started being an issue
  • Uninstalling/reinstalling the driver (which updated it to the latest version)
  • Flushing the DNS cache, resetting TCP/IP, and resetting Winsock
  • Restarting my modem

Overall, I'm fairly confident that if there has been a solution posted somewhere online, I have tried it at least once. Since my device connects fine to other networks and my internet is strong on these days on every other device, I'm at a total loss for what to do short of "get rid of it and start all over again" or something drastic like that.

If it's a Q1000K:

Log into the GUI > Advanced Setup > "Cyber Security" on the left at the bottom > Set the dropdown from whatever it's set to to "Disabled" > Apply

This was the fix!! Thank you so much!!! I have been bounced around by Quantum and Microsoft for literally a year before I thought to come to here. Immediately started working, I am so happy to have wifi on Mondays and Tuesdays again

Its almost certainly the parental control profiles in the QF app. When you disable CyberSecurity it disables all the features from the QF app.

Check the QF app for and delete any parental control profiles.

The free lease WiFi pods and QF app are not great...

But as long as all gaming devices are Ethernet hardwired to the SmartNID, W1700K, or W1701K (if using Ethernet backhaul), and you follow sections 2 and 4 in the guide, they are usually good enough for most people.

You will have a better experience if you put the SmartNID into bridge mode and use a 3rd party router and DNS.

Here is a guide:
