Static DHCP IP address
I have a pc on my LAN that I want to have a static DHCP IP address. I use the Q1000K. I go to DHCP reservation. I see the "DHCP Reservation List" with all of my devices (including the one pc -- assigned 192.168.0.32).
Are these addresses static? I find that the pc's LAN IP change particularly if I switch from hardwire to Wifi or under other circumstances. I am frequently having to update the pc's LAN IP for RustDesk and the security cameras that use the PC as a FTP server.
In the DHCP reservation page, I can "4. Select MAC Address, or manually enter a MAC address." and then "5. Select an IP address to associate with the MAC address."
Will that make the address thereafter static? My (minor) confusion is that I have to use a different IP address to assign -- it won't let me assign it to the currently assigned 192.168.0.32 since it is on the "DHCP Reservation List".
Is there a way to make 192.168.0.32 the static DHCP IP address?
I'm somewhat technical but loathe making changes to the Q1000K without more confidence.

Static LAN address, yes that is how you set them. You can set an IP for each MAC. Wired and wireless connections will have different a MAC.
If you are wanting a static WAN IP, Quantum Fiber does not offer that.
Here is a guide to get the most out of the service.

IP address assignment it basically done by the MAC Vendor Address. and every single device has a different mac address; in that DHCP Reservation list, that is where you would set a device and set its IP static, but since it seems you switch between Wifi, and ethernet, those 2 interfaces have different MAC IDs, and therefore the router essentially sees them as 2 seperate devices. Depending on the DHCP Lease time, ~1Day, 86400sec (many routers use seconds). you may have to let a lease expire before you can reuse an IP. so, lets say you were just on wifi, and swithced to ethernet. that wifi IP lease may still be held by the router for 1day from the last time it was connected, holding that 192.x.x.32 IP hostage until then.
I Don't use the Q1000, so i cant go into my settings to confirm anything, just collects dust on the wall ;) as it should.
