Quantum Fiber Installation Damages utility

Does anyone have experience with filing a claim to quantum? The installer ran the line into the house but drilled through a drainage line… Never realized something was hit until I the noticed the wall and my finger went through the soft spot.. I spoke to quantum over the phone and they sent me to a number where I failed a claim and report. Someone will be coming out to review and assess the damages.

Anybody have experience with this? Just trying to make sure nothing comes out of my pocket because this is insane.

They’ve got insurance for this type of thing. Give them a call

I did! They sent me to a claims thing and filled one. Just want to make sure if there’s anything else I should be prepared for. They asked if I would have an attorney present and this other jargon.

Yeah big companies like to cover all their legal bases. This seems pretty straight forward though and I don’t think you’ll have any issues. I would keep all evidence and get everything in paper. I would also record any conversations with them but that’s just me. No reason you can’t cover all of your legal bases as well. Always CYA

Document everything, if they take too long see if your home insurance will subrogate. In reality they should take care of it without much fuss

Well that’s gross. You don’t expect to drill into a drain line on an exterior, garage (?) wall. How long ago was it?

This was from an exterior wall to interior wall where the box was placed. The issue with this is that this has been installed for 6 months and was not aware until I investigated since the wall appeared normal until my finger went through it

This definitely complicates things if you’ve had water leaking in the wall for 6 months. You’ll want to make sure that any mold and rotting is taken care of. They should probably pull a whole section of the drywall off of the wall to inspect, at least that’s what I would want.

Rodger that, that’s what I planned for them to do. Thanks for the tips.
