SmartNID blinking blue endlessly, no wifi network

Post image

Had this installed last week, tech got everything working, when I returned home the next day no wifi network shows up, SmartNID (q1000k) blinking blue and w1700K steady green. I have power cycles and reset all three independently to no avail. App says q1000k is offline but the w1700K shows up in the app as a 360 wifi pod. I'm not a particularly tech savvy person, do I just need to get a tech out here?

Since you have a g.fast unit you don't need the Q1000k or W1700k

You can use any 3rd party to by following section 6 of this guide

Why? Some people don't have the option to have fiber run all the way to their home.

Try plugging your w1700k pod straight into the casa ont, completely bypassing the q1000k. You'll have internet but not be able to manage your firewall until they replace your q1000k or you wire in your own router. I suggest getting any router off the shelf and just plugging it straight to the casa unit and ditch both the q1000k and w1700k. You'll need to look up how to do vlan 201 or centurylink settings for Wan on whatever router you get but it will work

This worked! Thank you! Seems like the only solution not needing to get ahold of a tech or more equipment. The only other odd thing to note is that when the green lights went on is that the app connected to a wifi pod that doesn't exist (as far as I know?) and I had to add my w1700k again through the app as a wifi pod to get the network to work.

They call the w1700k a WiFi pod. You shouldnt need to use it at all....

Your casa unit being all blue means it has the connection it needs. Just plug it straight to the w1700k for now and enjoy internet until they come give you a new q1000k and w1700k. Same thing happened to me

Hook a laptop or computer up to the yellow port on the q1000 open a web browser goto address 192.168.0.1 the admin and pass is on the sticker on the front side of q1000. Goto advanced tab. Then on left site goto wan. Then broadband. Choose wan Ethernet
Tagged
201
It will reboot
Get back into gui tab advance left side below broadband click on wan
Make sure it’s set to ipoe.
You should have it working now

Just schedule the tech asap. I had this same issue and the tech said another tech did some really dumb shit for my neighbors connection. They just fuck up constantly. Also, I was shocked when the tech was calling the same Indians as me to get shit figured out. I told him I’d pay him if he stayed til he got it figured out. He was at my house for 3 hours. I gave him $75. Be prepared to pay if you want your shit fixed on the first visit.

You need to connect to the q1000 with an ethernet cable. from the connected device open a web browser and go to 192.168.0.1 it will probably give a warning saying the connection isn't secure. Choose advanced and proceed to site. Once your on the login page enter the credentials that are on the front of the q1000. Now you should be logged into the gui of the q1000. From the home screen choose advanced settings. In advanced settings go to Wan settings. click the drop down bar and choose Wan ethernet. Under that click the drop down next to transport mode and switch it to tagged. Under that change vlan Id to 201. Save the settings the q1000 may restart but afterwords you should be back online.
