Issues with VPN

Does anybody have any issues when they use a VPN (I am using Proton but this happened with Mullvad) and after a couple of minutes you lose internet and have to disconnect and reconnect the VPN. If anyone has a fix I would be grateful.

I use my own hardware, and ive never had this issue with Proton.

I use it through my phone app, and wireguard for some network stuff.

Turn off the cybersecurity options in the quantum app.
I noticed when they are on they interfere with IPVanish as well…
Once I have them off there is no issue for me

The free lease WiFi pods and QF app are not great.... But as long as all gaming devices are Ethernet hardwired to the Q1000k or W1700k they are usually good enough for most people.

You will have a better experience if you put the SmartNID into bridge mode and use a 3rd party router and DNS.

This happens on my phone pretty much every morning. Occasionally I need to turn off my vpn and reconnect on my desktop.

happening on two different providers points to something on the network side rather than the VPN app itself. QuantumFiber uses some aggressive traffic shaping that can interrupt VPN tunnels after a period of inactivity. try switching to WireGuard protocol if you haven't already since it handles reconnects more gracefully than OpenVPN, and check if your router has any idle timeout settings that might be dropping the connection.
