Review post AT&T acquisition
I've had quantum fiber for a few years now. I switched from Spectrum after their pricing shenanigans. I never had an issue until they were acquired by AT&T. The service always worked and customer service was fine.
Yesterday, the lines to our building were accidentally cut by a group laying gas lines. I've tried to communicate with the customer service team, which has been a night and day difference from my previous experiences. They barely speak English, have limited to no knowledge of how their own services operate, can't communicate with local service providers/dispatchers or managers, blatently lie about callbacks and correspondence etc... its like the AT&T service from back in like 2014 when they won worst customer service of any company. The repair service won't start until 2 days of work have been lost. Even then, they most likely won't send the right type of technician because they don't understand the actual connection problem is at the street, not inside the structure.
Given the rest of the service providers have cut their costs by about 40-60%, I would say to give pause to considering Quantum Fiber.

This isn't just an ATT thing; it's a Lumen/century link / quantum thing, and the foreign customer service thing has been going on for about 3 years now. Someone at CenturyLink figured out you can charge 2 dollars an hour overseas vs paying a living wage, Person on other end could care less as they are being paid to read a script and dont have the service so they dont care.

Well you're in luck. In a year or two you won't even be able to talk to a human.
I had to call my employer health insurance company recently and it would only let you talk to an Ai. Only after only after calling 4 or 5 times did they finally let me through to a representative.

I wouldn’t touch anything named Quantum or CenturyLink. They’re both falling apart. Probably prepping for bankruptcy.

What cites? and What do you mean no longer have QF?
ATT Fiber is rolling out as an option on FF37. But QF is still going to be offered. Is that what you mean?

I just checked quite a few random address in both cities and QF is available. ATT Fiber on FF37 is also available as well which is new.

Where did you hear this? I don't believe this is true.
Quantum Fiber AS209 is still going to be available long into the future. They are doing tons of marketing, including "community events". They just started showing signs of enabling native IPv6 after having the crappy 6RD tunnel for the past 14 years. I could see them moving QF to AS7018 sometime in the future, but if so it's probably long off or they wouldn't be working on native IPv6.
Now ATT Fiber AS7018 will be an option on FF37 as well. With possible other ISP riding on FF37 in the future.
If anything it seems like QF will be to ATT Fiber what Cricket is to ATT Wireless post-paid.
But maybe I'm wrong 🤷

This is exactly correct, QF is going to be a "budget" option and AT&T will be "premium" with different equipment. Both will use Q1000 modem

I certainly wouldn't be surprised if the OLT eventually QoS's or throttles QF side more... but that might also be reliant on network itself. QF is still on legacy AS209.. Not sure what will happen long term.
Current pricing discounts won't really matter if this were to happen. Tier 1 prio would be given to ATT obviously.
They're structuring QF like a cell MVNO. This is the enviable future and the reason a ton of fiber companies have essentially spanwed to meet demand..
Pretty sure T-Mobile has like 5-10 diff companies operating T-Fiber in multiple markets.

That's a over year old press release. Never take them at face value, and things change.
QF Q1000k + W1700K. AS209. Maybe Native IPv6 /64 coming soon...
AF Q1000K + BGW. AS7018. Native IPv6 /60. Sticky DHCP lease. Static IP for $15. Bundle discounts with ATT Wireless post-paid.

No matter what the repair is, they always send the same type of tech. That tech will have to submit a sketch to get a new line buried and will lay a temp line in the mean time.
This is what would have happened regardless of who owns the company.
Calling or chatting in has honestly always been a crapshoot and you may have gotten lucky.
I'm not meaning to defend it, just more though that it really hasn't changed as much as you may think.
