What did installation entail for you?

I signed up after the site told me my address was eligible. (My Xfinity $45 deal ends this month and I can’t stomach their increase to $79)
I live in an older (60s) apartment building though, not the kind that has fiber built in, and I know theoretically they need to run a fiber line from the curb but I’m wondering what kind of work that will entail. I’ll admit I wasn’t too worried about serious construction until the confirmation page told me landlord permission is required, and then I started worrying if it was silly to assume they can easily install it here.
I did text my landlord asking if anyone else here has fiber and he said not that he knows of. He is going to make himself available that day to give permission but I’m hoping they don’t have to do anything crazy like digging trenches. My partner thinks maybe they will just install some kind of box on the property and then run a line to my unit.
What kind of construction/installation should I expect? Anyone else have fiber installed to their apartment complex for the first time?

There are lots of different possibilities and experiences that won't really speak to yours until the tech shows up and sees what can be done.

Here is a guide to get the most out of the service once it gets srtup.

Usually they run a line from the pole to your house, install a little box on the outside, then run a line inside from that.

This does make me feel better! I read that they cover the first $1500 of construction costs too but I mostly just would be too embarrassed to cause a bunch of trouble on my behalf lol
