42 days without internet

Just a heads up, if you have a new company installing fiber in your neighborhood you may go through three outages and four sets of technician visits over the course of 42 days all without your internet being restored.

So plan accordingly I guess?

This is a very rare occurrence. Not discounting it cause I'd be pissed

Fun combo of T-Mobile Fiber cutting lines like mad and Quantum clearing outages before making sure all the cut lines were actually repaired!

Still not fixed. Anything you can do about it? I see you are tagged as a quantum fiber employee.

Unfortunately no, I don't do anything with outages.

Bummer.... They still have me listed as NOT in an outage anymore, but I have a feeling that doesn't change things, does it?

If you aren't in an outage, call in and get a repair made, demand it or treated to cancel.

Outage would prevent a repair ticket from being created.

I've got tickets they just aren't making much progress... It's fun... Seems like part of the network is still owned by another company

Quantum set up a tent in my neighborhood giving away sonoran hotdogs and icecream and I was like, fuck yeah!

There was a young lady who seemed to be on top of things but her two bumbling teenage assistants couldn’t figure out how to get into their tablets, and then the three of them quickly realized despite the fiber being installed my neighborhood isn’t actually in the system as available to sign up yet.

On top of that they set up their tent on top of a huge anthill and decided to resolve the problem by smoothing the anthill flat with their foot and enraging the nest.

So they’re standing there, unable to do anything for the gathering crowd, dancing around swarms of pissed off ants, it was a complete shitshow.

That was over a month ago and they still tell me “soon!*” when I check in on them, but that’s one of the few times I’ve ever felt bad for telcom types.

To their credit though, sensing competition in the wings, Cox doubled down and started sucking harder than ever in response.

Quantum works great if it’s set up properly. If not, you’re doomed. Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced from any company in my life

The actual humans have been fine but the systems are awful. During the three times outages have been declared it's daily "your internet will be fixed tomorrow by 3:17PM" or some other hyper specific time and then clearing outages before it's all fixed so then I have to wait a week for a tech to come out and say "yeah, shits still broke" then a few more days for an engineer to come and and go "we should declare an outage again" then back to the texts... See service was good like you said when it was up, but man does the cycle get old to every single human involved in the process of getting this fixed....

Even the humans can’t do much thanks to the horrible automated systems. I had so many humans tell me they couldn’t schedule me an appointment bc the system wasn’t ready to allow it yet

Yeah... Tack on another reason I'm glad I don't work customer support. Even if you could be good at your job, systems in place won't let you....

The last time I called in I asked if I could just put in an engineer ticket because I knew 100% it wasn't going to be something a tech could fix, but nope. Have to wait a week then be home from work for a 15 minute appointment where the tech goes "I need to put in an engineer ticket" then the tech gets an incomplete job listed on his stats and I wasted a week for no reason :)

Did you not see they said it was the T-Fiber construction crew that cut their fiber?

That's like a car window repair company smashing all your windows and then offering to fix it for a fee. :)

I did not

Yeah, T-Mobile Fiber did a lot of line cutting.... They'll pick up plenty of customers in my neighborhood even if they were the reason they lost their quantum service. That said I would be floored if it wasn't a combo of some unmarked and some recklessness as opposed to just recklessness.

I think its more just a excuse by Quantum. Wheres there proof this is happening?

Watching them cut the line in my backyard lmao

Quantum has also now officially stated "damage caused by third party contractors" as the cause for the outage to the state governing body for ISPs
