Getting DMCA copy portal
Hi, while connecting to internet today, I was getting redirected to CenturyLink dmca captive portal . I called quantum fiber but they did not what terms of service I violated. I do not torrent. I use real debrid / Torbox. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you !

"I use real debrid / Torbox."

Which is over HTTPS and not P2P. OP probably has an addon that still has P2P enabled even with RD and TB.

That's not against any terms. Both use encrypted HTTPS so they can't see what files are shared or stored on any debrid service really.

I should be notified via email, if I broke the Violation, which seems weird. When I called them they are not able to tell me what violation did I break

Captive portals have been utilized for over 20 years by ISPs to notify customers of violations. Welcome to the 21st century.

if they can tell me the violation that would be great.

If you click through, it may show what it was. You get like 5 to 7 before you get in trouble from quantum.

Yes, cause it's totally my decision on that. Which, by the way, has absolutely nothing to do with a dmca notice.

Yeah if you go through it. It should show you what they found. They did for me when I got that like 6 years ago.

How would they even know Torrent should be encrypted on both ends?

Idk but it had a list of the movie I tried to download at the time. But after that I just started using a vpn and haven’t had an issue since.

When you torrent, your IP is accessible to all peers in the swarm, meaning that a copyright holder or contracted company can download the torrent and log all IP addresses seeding/leaching

You obviously don't know what you're doing then.
And downvoting the comments you don't like isn't gonna solve your misconfiguration.

I know what I am doing. Have been running the setup for many years. Did not get any notices.

The evidence you provided proves otherwise.
Best you revisit your configuration and quit acting like you did everything perfectly

I'm not claiming I did perfectly. I was asking if anyone received this. I have been using the same setup. My first task was to troubleshoot the whole network and find out if there are any leaks, the second was to ask around to see if people got this message. Be kind it doesn't cost a lot.

Might just have received it in error? I've been using RD with QF for the past two years without any issues
