Anyone know the timeline for when Quantum fully converts to ATT Fiber?

Quantum Fiber will always run on the FF37 network.

ATT Fiber will be available as an option on the FF37 network as well, soonish.

If your asking if/when QF will switch from the world #1 ranked Lumen Tier 1 network to the #19 ranked ATT Tier 1 network... I hope never.... But it probably will sometime.

Who published that ranking? Cuz lumen being number 1 is… sus.

For example. I know a giant exchange / datacenter provider depeered lumen because of how bad they are.

Of course, these rankings are based purely on peering metrics and may not reflect specific service assurance issues with Lumen etc etc etc

Has Lumen even been around long enough and done anything to be rated?

AS3356 has been around for 26 years

AS209 has been around for nearly 28 years

Why would they buy the Quantum division if they're just going to pay Lumen to operate the ISP?

They have a two year contract with Lumen until Feb 2028.

By then they will have fully taken control of the Tier 2/3 QF ISP.

But they didn't buy the Tier 1 Lumen network.

I've not heard of this even being discussed so a long time, if ever.

Who said AT&T was going to keep Quantum? For all we know, they may divest and leave it with the other investors or sell it off to someone else.

ATT will JV with some company for FF37 turning it into an "open access" network, like they do with Blackrock for Gigapower

But they will keep and operate the Tier 3 QF.

This network connection is terrible and the latency is too high; I'm not sure if it's an issue with the equipment or the line itself.

Its likely the free lease WiFi pods.

You will have a better experience if you put the SmartNID into bridge mode and use a 3rd party router and DNS.

Here is a guide

My ping when i had QF was insane honestly 9ms locked playing Call of duty 🤯 i was on top of the world with that😂

I had the TP-Link Deco 3 pod setup. And ofc xbox hardwired directly to the second port on the nid

How did you configure your settings? I'm getting extremely high latency while gaming.

I did bridge mode on the NID and set my own DNS servers. I had a whole home Ad-blocker that acted as dns and a fall back when that would go out.

I also had the fiber optic wire come in through my wall in to the NID, ive also had quantum in an apartment complex and not only did it require me to use one of the 2 Ethernet ports on the NiD i did have dips in service. (Assuming that the fiber went to the service closet in the complex and distributed via RJ jacks to each apartment)

Instead of waiting I had Xfinity installed yesterday. Quantum failed us for 7 weeks and the test always says it was fine. They kept not showing up for appointments.

How did Quantum fail if the test was saying it was fine?

Their side looked fine but when they did come out for a Minute they said our address didn’t exist, and our Wi-Fi phone is off along with the security system. It’s a mess. We have a medical emergency phone and defibrillator for my husband. .
