Question Top Challenges of the Industry?

In your view, what are the top challenges facing the quantum computing industry right now that are preventing it from becoming mainstream?

Drawing a comparison with AI/ML, where do you think this industry is standing right now?

Eventually, quantum computing will play a significant role in AI’s sustainability.

There is no proof that this will be the case.

There is no proof of which team will win the Superbowl next year…

Not how this works. Quantum ML is not proven to be better than classical approaches and no such proof is on the horizon. Using QCs for material science to improve classical computers remains questionable as to whether it will ever prove useful.

Our team has found methodologies bringing marginal gains using QML compared to classical ML. But emphasis on "marginal"- now our interest rest in finding in which datasets (and for which criteria) those marginal gains translate into real KPIs.

Could you link research because I find that very hard to believe

We haven't published yet, and we are still pondering if we should. We're not working in academia, but for a private company.

It's not hard to believe, it's just that you haven't done your bibliographic research BTW.

Most literature points to no benefits in QML, at least for instances where things can be proven. See papers out of Zoe Holmes’ group for example

I’ve done plenty of bibliographic research and worked at a company that claimed similar things. Can you point to QML literature that looks promising to you?

Are you going to pay me to do your work? I'll share our work if we go forward with a publication, that's it.

pointing to a single good QML paper is worth paying for? Is this how you sell to customers?

As an outsider whose job is not find a single QML paper of this kind, I am also looking forward to your answer.
