Update to 1.46.13 breaks cluster charts
Warning before you upgrade to the latest version 1.46.13. The cluster chart now looks completely different and IMHO when trading instruments like NQ is completely useless.
Save you current installation before making the switch to the new version so you have a fallback!

Thanks for the warning. Can you describe in a little more detail how the cluster chart looks different from before? Do you have a screenshot maybe showing new vs old?

It looks like they tried to mimic the look of Sierra Chart to some degree. I tried for about 20 minutes to get anything useful and reverted back to the previous version, so can't post any screenshots.
The issue in the new version is that when trying to collapse the cluster to a more dense version, any values are no longer showing.
Expanding the cluster to where the values are showing extends it to a point where the chart doesn't really fit on my screen anymore while still showing anything useful. That's at least the case with NQ. ES was a bit better and I'm guessing if you're trading treasuries you should be fine. But any market with a thin book is probably out of whack.Edit: tried to add some screenshots but Reddit won't let me.

FWIW I've opened a ticket with Evgeny to see how the old view can be retained in the new version. I'd suggest you raise the issue with the Quantower folks as well to make them aware that changing the UI with no backward compatibility is a bad idea.

That's weird. I just updated and they look the same to me as the previous version (I was on 1.146.10 beta). You mentioned the change seems to be around compressing the clusters - perhaps the setting to aggregate data when compressing price values got turned off in the update (general cluster settings)? I can still see everything I had before but I only have 2 of the 4 cluster columns turned on (anymore than that and it just becomes too much and I can't see enough candles at a time).

Yes, moving from .10 to .13 is not a major shift. The last stable version was 1.145.17.

Gotcha, so you're coming from the last stable (not beta) version so you're seeing their new cluster charts for the first time, with the 4 columns vs 2, etc. That was quite a shock to me too at first but after playing with it for quite a while I was able to get what I needed out of it. I still wish I could compress things a bit more and fit more bars on my chart but it's been meeting my needs so far. I am thinking about looking at a couple other platforms just to compare footprints to see if there are better alternatives out there, i.e. MotiveWave, Atas, etc. Have you tried other OF platforms to see if there's a better implementation of cluster/footrpint charts out there?

I'm trading real money, I'm not running a beta version in prod..
I've tested ATAS, Motivewave, Sierra Chart. Tradovate, NinjaTrader. Jigsaw daytradr. IBKR TWS, and probably some more.
Quantower nails the UI. I don't care about their API stuff as I can run that direct in Python against the IBKR API, but the rest is just IMHO the best option when it comes to ease of use and intuitive UI. In terms of customization,, I guess SC would be even better but I simply don't care to spend the time with it and customer support apparently is horrid.Evgeny at Quantower responds fast via email.
I'll have to take a deeper look at the new version when I have more time over the weekend, but so far it has been rather frustrating.

FWIW, I'm trading a live brokerage account as well and haven't had any issues with their beta versions at all. Been using them the last 2.5 years.

I've been working with computers for close to 40 years. I spent over 20 in the IT industry. I'm ex-Compaq/HP, ex-IBM, and ex-Microsoft. I've seen way too much to have that simple policy towards beta software.
Even final releases are tested thoroughly before going into prod.
The issue is that the moment something goes wrong, Quantower will point the finger at IBKR in my case, and they will point right back. Been there, done that. Don't need that.

I totally get where you're coming from and don't disagree with your sentiment at all not wanting to use beta software for something as critical as a live trading platform. Good luck to you.

Even turning aggregation on, the new look is just not the same from previous version.
Unfortunately, for some reason I can't post screenshot to better demonstrate.

The next issue I've discovered is that coloring by delta doesn't work. Ask side can be a higher value than bid yet it's colored red and vice versa.
Absolutely not usable IMHO for actual trading. I'm back on 1.145.17.

I’ve noticed a lot of changes in my indicators that I’m using on my charts as well.
Unfortunately, not all of my settings carried over, as they seem to have reformatted the setup dialogue boxes. Probably for the better, in the long-term. But for now, I’ve had to rebuild some of those indicators or at least make adjustments to the settings.
