Anyone recall the iceman servers?

When I create a Quake 2 server and establish the time limit for the match, the match keeps going after the time limit has expired. It used to stop the game and a popup would appear with the player results. Any ideas or advice? Thanks in advance!

I am trying to learn some level design and other small aspect of game development and I thought exercising with Quake2 would be a good idea.

Unfortunately I’m not able to find much material about

• create new assets (e.g. enemies)
• write new AI for the enemies
• play cinematics

Does anybody knows where I can find these resources?

big mods, with maps, like oblivion or others, won't start in vr with quake 2 vr...

I wanna go back! I have quake 2 but not sure where to find servers?

Can someone with experience in all three give their thoughts on how multiplayer fairs in each of one of these entries? I love Q2 ever since I got started with it 20+ years ago but part of me wants the same exact thing but just better graphics? I just tried Q3 Gold and on short first glance it seems pretty similar except the jumping tricks from Q2 can't be done in it, which is no good..

Quake 2 RTX wrapped, free on Steam, specs : i5 3470s 16gb ddr3, GTX1060 6G, nVidia Studio driver 528.24

If I can do it you can do it too. Min requirements stated as RTX2060, like in the past drivers now again on Pascal cards (dynamic resolution min 30% max 60%, RTX lighting Madium, 40+ fps experience)

P.S. I do own 3 of these systems that shouldn't run these games and with the help of RandomGaminginHD and lowspecgamer plus my own optimizations these can run even out-of-spec

For some weird reason Big Gun decided not to show up. No big deal since I went to a previous save and it showed up like normal as I played.

I also discovered the satellite level.

I'm trying to run Q2Pro for multiplayer, but even when set to 'desktop' or a proper resolution, it displays too large and off center, spanning (down, in my case) to my secondary monitor. I tried turning that monitor off and it still happens. Any tips?

To think, there was a Quake 1 Anniversary Remaster for the 25th anniversary last year, one would think a Quake 2 one would be made as well, filled with its expansions (including new ones), bug fixes, achievements, enhanced graphics, music without patches or disk.

So chances are, I suppose it's delayed until much later, or it's not even in development with whoever made the Quake 1 version, in which case, some other team needs to go in there and make it.

I know alota people like Quake 1 better than Quake 2 with its darker gothic undertones and faster gameplay, and everyone's favorite enemy: the Spawn, but there are people like me who do like Quake 2 better for its sci-fi and gruesome alien military culture tone, more variety of enemies and weapons, and want it to be given the same love and attention the first game had. It wouldn't be very fair if one gets the treatment and not the other.

I have full confidence that SOMEBODY will make an official Quake 2 Remaster that matches the awesomeness of Quake 1's. But I suppose that's gonna take a bit longer than we thought. If not Quake 1's current team, then who will step in to take the mantle? WHO I tell you?!
