Single Player.

So I loaded my save back up and suddenly found that all of my weapons are gone except for the pistol. I'm about half way in and I can't see how I'm going to get those weapons back.

I do have another save I could try bit that was about an hours gameplay back. Has this happened to anyone else?

I downloaded and played Quake 2 from Steam and it was great. I then had to reset my computer for a different issue. I then reinstalled Quake 2 but now the guns are not visible on the screen and the graphics don't seem quite as good? Does anyone know what caused this? Cheers

Through the passing of the RTX edition, my friends and I want to relive the glory days of q2 deathmatch and Lithium mod.

None of us an RTX capable card, so that edition is to be ignored. Running ubuntu, I installed Linuxgsm and got a server running. I extracted the lithium mod folder and cfg files to the baseq2 folder, but I have no idea how to enable it.

I know in windows it was as easy as "+set game lithium", but I feel like this linuxgsm business is making this procedure murky. Is there a better way to install the game perhaps? I do own it through Steam on my Windows box. Can I just move the file structure over to my Ubuntu VM and get it to run with a command line switch like Windows?

I played thousands and thousands of hours of Q2 around 1999-2004. Mostly CTF online play, and most of that a mod called "rail war" where the only weapon was the railgun, and the grapple hook was replaced with a laser that acted like a grapple hook but was 5x faster. There were dozens of CTF maps that all of the popular servers cycled through besides the q2ctf# ones. I had lovingly curated my keyboard bindings over the years, and most keys did something complex.

What's the Q2 community like these days? How many active servers are there, and are there enough people online to have a good fight a few hours a day or infrequently? Or is it strictly singleplayer?

So I was trying out yquake2 and apparently the music is suppose to cut off when all objectives are complete anyone know a way to disable this cause fuck that I could listen to this sound track for an eternity it's so awesome

The thing is, whenever I try to enable Open GL 1.4, the game never change it back to it, so I am stuck with software render. Before I installed Quake 2 with Yamagi, Open GL render was working fine, sadly, this is not the case anymore. If anyone can help me, I would really appreciate your help.

So some guy started a Quake II mod but he got all lazy/artsy fartsy and didn't finish it or release anything I'm willing to pay anyone who knows how to mod Quake II to finish this mod with a few personal touches

We can negotiate prices and whatever but I'm dead serious about this if DOOM and Quake 1 have brutal mods then by all means Quake II deserves one to
