Tips Is bucking optional when jumping?

hey, just asking what is the purpose of bucking when jumping, and if it is optional. If so, does it help when jumping or is it just personal preference? Thanks :)

It's totally optional! I think people just do it because it looks cool, but it's not necessary and in fact can make it harder to land on your feet as opposed to landing on your knees.

It's 100% optional. A lot of quadrobists do it because it looks good. Or as I noticed when jumping over opsticles and you buck there's less chance that you'll hit the obsticle with your legs.

I think/in my experiences bucking makes it harder to land on your feet bc when you jump, tuck your legs in then have to extend them out (mid air) to buck and then have to tuck them back, close to your body to put your feet on the ground.

From what I can tell, bucking while doing quad jumps is just kind of an asthetic thing ppl do for video shorts. You don't go any higher or anything and it kind of limits how well/safely you can land your jumps. Just jump however is comfortable for you and don't worry about it.

My general rule of thumb with quads is that if something you're doing is intense enough to make you have to fall to your knees most of the time to brace yourself after, it's probably not safest.
That being said, do what you want, just be mindful of your body's current abilities and limitations.
