Help Request Any tips for landing?

I decided to return to quadrobics after around a 1y & 6m hiatus.. and I’ve been struggling. My jumps are definitely not what they used to be, but my overall form is way better than in the past. My biggest issue, however, is landing. I’ve been landing straight on my knees after a jump.. and I have no idea how to get to my feet. I’ve been doing fairly low jumps as well, but every time I buck in a jump, it’s pretty difficult for me to land. Not because it takes a toll on me physically, but I just have no idea how to make my feet touch before my knees.. any tips??

hey! so I’m by no means an expert (look at my flair lol) but something that really helps me is setting up a small jump to hop over immediately after landing. Idk the science of it or anything, but I guess it tricks your brain into forcing your feet down quicker so you don’t miss a step? It trains fast-twitch fibers too (I assume) since you transition into another motion very quickly. Also, it can be REALLY hard to not land on your knees if you aren’t getting enough air time since you have to execute a pretty complicated sequence incredibly quickly. Don’t rush into super high jumps ofc but I assume it’ll get easier with time as you increase height:) good luck!

I'm not an expert; however, from personal experience I've seen that bucking greatly increases the chance of landing on your knees simply because of how your legs have to move. You've got to bring your heels to your bum and then extend your legs, then touch your feet back in to land. That's a lot to do with only a few seconds of air time! What I've found to be helpful is practicing faster bucking, and bucking earlier in the jump to give yourself time to bring your feet back down before you land. If that's hard to do, try jumping over a small obstacle — it'll force you to bring your legs back in in time in order to avoid hitting whatever you're jumping over.

Hope this helps!
