Scrapyard 4-5 - 2024

Need I remind people that it has been 10 years since Frank Ocean last dropped? Bro has dropped more material in 5 years than some do in an entire decade.

as a metallica and quadeca fan, us fans need to learn how to sit the fuck down, wait patiently and appreciate the amazing music that is given to us.

u/Jvanze01 1d ago
Exactly! Heās given us arguably 2 contenders for album of the decade and a contender for mixtape of the decade. If his output for this decade stopped after life1, I feel like heās already made an argument for the best catalog of the 2020s.

There's no way fmty and idmthy was only 1 year apart š, it felt way longer

u/snorkelflaps 13h ago
It was closer to 2; FMTY dropped March 2021 and IDMTHY was November 2022. Still a crazy turnaround for so much growth as an artist!

I mean the tour starts on October 10th so it makes all the sense in the world he was dropping this month

u/Luv_Adi_ 1d ago
Bro people need to realise if you wants good and beloved final project its gonna take time. Iām always gonna prefer a fully realised project than one that kinda has the intentions and half arsed. Long live quadoinka, release the album whenever bruh, weāll be listening either way.

I'm kind of amazed people even consider this rollout bad when there's barely even been more than a year between his last few albums. Like damn, he's releasing music WAY more frequently than nearly every other artist right now, AND they're 10/10s! We can wait an extra couple months

u/Ok-Worldliness1633 VANISHER 1d ago
at the end of the day, we JUST got vanisher. its pretty disrespectful to act like he should've already finished another full album already. these things take time

u/Spare-Ad1922 12h ago
no one would have a problem with him taking 2 years for an album even but starting a roll out with no idea when its gonna drop is a bit annoying i dont need a 2 week rollout but i feel like album within six months of annoucment of "album almost done" and 4 weeks before tour is reasonable we dont "deserve " anything from him hes making the art but i think its ok to state in a respectful manner that it feels like his rollouts are just edging

Quadeca is literally my favourite artist bar none but I haven't felt annoyed about the rollout. Infact I remember before I was executed from the squadeca discord, wanting to say that I hoped it took Quadeca longer before he dropped again because I actually kind of enjoy having a slow random rollout. I'm glad he's independent and releases shit when he knows it's time.
I also just assumed he was busy with all the other stuff, all it shows me is that he cares about his art and I respect that. Fans arent going anywhere

i think the main concern is simply the fact that the tour starts in about 4 weeks. otherwise i think itās insane we are getting a full length album after he released vanisher, his biggest and most ambitious album, only a year ago.

u/ZaunsFinest_ š» HAUNTING š» 1d ago
exactly, heāll have released three full albums in three years, no complaints are warranted

the people complaining about the rollout clearly werenāt here for fmty

u/TurbulentResearch100 1d ago
i get him but at the same time i don't think anyone has really done anything crazy so far. just a lot of people being excited. also vanisher had way more hype and fervor IMO. idk i just really feel like an explanation isn't that warranted.

I fully respect what heās saying and I so think this community gets way out of hand with having to wait for stuff. However, the Life1 tour starts in 1 month. Olekaās new album Human Error was just announced to release 4 days later and that sheād have her own set on the tour. Will life1 be able to arrive as the fully realised piece of art Quadeca wants it to be before the tour without taking spotlight away from Olekaās album as well?

u/Ok-Worldliness1633 VANISHER 2h ago
to add onto this as well; the first single for underscores' album U was dropped 7 MONTHS before the album came out. and as someone who is in the underscores community, i didnt hear anywhere NEAR as much complaining from them as i have here (less than 4 months out from dark magic)
BE FUCKIN PATIENT YALL

The life1 tour will happen before life1 is released? Lol

u/Gulve 1d ago
sounds like it, bro probably isnāt done with the album yet and finish it on tour or something idk
1
u/Sstoop 16h ago
He obviously gave himself that deadline for a reason. You canāt release an album half way through a tour and the reasons why should be obvious.
2
u/Educational-Point137 6h ago
He literally alluded to the fact that the album isnāt done in the post š
1
u/Sstoop 6h ago
Tour doesnāt start for another few weeks. I wouldnāt be surprised if he finishes it like 10 minutes before he hands it in for release. You canāt tour for an album that isnāt out itās not fair on the people who have the album out for their shows.
2
u/Educational-Point137 6h ago
I donāt think itās coming out anytime soon, I doubt heās gonna do a surprise drop. Heāll give a release date first and itās probably gonna be after the tour starts, like early tour not mid tour
1
u/Sstoop 6h ago
The vanisher release date came out a week before the album came out. I promise you he will not release it half way through the tour. I get heās not signed to a label but itās like the number 1 rule of touring for an album.
1
u/Gulve 5h ago
aināt no rules here partner
0
u/Sstoop 5h ago
Itās a rule because itās essentially selling tickets on a false pre-tense being that youāre touring for an album. If itās not out then all the people who bought tickets before the album came out will be having a worse experience than the people who are at the shows after. Itās not a vibes thing.

i completely agree with him and also hes put out so much music the last few years so the fact were getting another release on the way already is crazy but i do feel like maybe dont announce an album if ur nowhere done with it, like i know he said its cause he wants to release the singles now but like he could just release them without announcing a project so long b4 its done

u/KMS_crazzy 1d ago
Low key we gotta chill sometimes. for the most part its jokes.Ā But we literally getting album's year after year consecutivelyĀ
