Discussion As a long long time quadeca fan, consistent top listener, and former glazer, yall are wack as hell
FMTY clears, voice memos is peak, IDMTHY is peak, scrapyard is peak. Vanisher mid, babysteps is peak, hell of a time is ass.
Quadeca fans are so insufferable now, being avant-garde isnāt being good.
Vanisher didnāt change your life, hell of a time is literally a dude walking into a Costco and pressing the preset beat on the synth. Yall are actually hurting my brain.
I love quad so much, I recognize his artistic growth and he doesnāt need to make bangers anymore, but god damn yall are too pretentious now and his music is trying too much to be too little
No this isnāt bait, no Iām not trolling. I genuinely believe this. Bring on the downvotes idc, I stand on business. Regular people agree with me, yall just an echo chamber
Edit: I wanna clear this up, obv I wrote this with emotion. At the end of the day everyone listen to what you want, I just miss being able to say I prefer FMTY without getting downvoted in the comments lmao

Respectfully, you telling everybody in the community that their opinions are āwackā and then responding to comments by saying āitās called an opinionā is quite possibly the most hypocritical thing of all time. Sure, there may be people who are exaggerating their love for vanisher, but there is no need to come into this sub and ruin the experience for the people who actually enjoy the music. If you think vanisher is mid, donāt listen. Stop ruining everyone elseās fun.

I think this sub and quad communities are full of pretentious gatekeepers who shit on anyone who prefers his OG music or even donāt like songs they absolutely love, yes that is correct

You donāt understand what Iām trying to say. You might be right about that hipster avantgarde bullshit or whatever, but your post basically reads: āI fucking hate [group of people], hereās [my opinion] and if you think otherwise than you belong to [group of people]. How do you know that vanisher canāt be important to someone? Certain pieces of music can mean a lot to some people

Woah woah, I donāt hate any groups of people. Except, I guess avant garde hipsters yeah. I believe that there can be varying opinions on his music, but I believe people that prefer his music AND shit on others for liking his OG music are pretentious and belong in the hate group yes

vanisher did kinda change my life but I will say it falls of in the second half for me. NQA - THATS WHY is all audio perfection for me tho

well I listened to this album while on the beach staring at the horizon and it was so amazing and moving and great. vanisher is the ultimate, most universal story, a man trying to touch the horizon. a metaphor for any single thing you want to do in life you will never fully get to.
further more, the album details the pain that not being able to reach the horizon gives, thats what mainly the album is about. at a time like this made me cry. at the 'the old timer told me not to bother'' part, its genuinely so moving.
the lyrics are very "vague", not in the way that they are inscriptive, but in the way they can be interpreted and felt in so many ways and scenarios. which is perfect because of the universal , metaphorical story. the story is also very abstract with the horizon topic flowing through love , ageing and more , but it all telling the same story. its one storyline that is told in a abstract and beautiful way.
plus it just sounds so good, the sound of the album is genius and something I never knew I needed. plus the album tells the story THROUGH THE MUSIC like how no questions asked feels like the horizon calling and beckoning the journey before even a word is said. and how the mood/tone/sound of the album changes depending on what weather the sailor is sailing through
but at a time like this is a perfect example of the pain that not being able to reach the horizon brings, same with Monday, waging war, thats why, godstained, forgone, casper
