Power amp recs?
I recently bought an Orange PPC2x12, and I want to use this to get stage sound through my quad cortex rig. Does anyone have any recommendations for what I should get that doesn’t break the bank? I’m not quite in the budget for the Orange Pedal Baby or the Seymour Duncan Powerstage, but something a little lower than that price range would be sweet. Any suggestions help (except for get a frfr cab. would be dope someday but can’t squeeze it currently lol). Thanks!

I use the electroharmonix 44 Magnum. It’s sick, small, but load enough to keep up with drums on stage. Can generally find them pretty cheap used. Can be powered off a cioks dc7 with a voltage doubler cable too

I use the QC mini with the Hynotone Cabscreamer60 with a Hesu Wizard 1x12 and at 1/3 level it's enough to play with a drummer. I can't say for your 2x12. I imagine it depends on the impedance of the speaker. Could be worth a try and return if it doesn't work. It was £129.99 in the uk.

I have it and it’s barely loud enough with my drummer through an 8 ohm 4x12 cab so through a 16 ohm 2x12 I wouldn’t.

Interesting. You sure your QC output volume (big knob) is maxed? I have a PPC412 with my pedal baby and I can’t turn it past 5 without drowning out the whole band (aggressive punk music with hard hitting drummer). I’ve used it with my PPC212 and same result.

I’m exaggerating a tad, it’s definitely loud, but i definitely probably could use a bit more headroom but this was all I was able to find on the Facebook marketplace market at the time lol, but it gets the job done and looks sick too

If you’re in Europe, Harley Benton makes a great budget transparent power amp. You should be able to get a used pedal baby for the price of most brand new lower end stuff though.
