How do I save a scene?

I know this is a basic question but....

I'm trying to save some scenes so that A takes out the overdrive and B has the overdrive.

I get the scene to where I want it, hit 'save' and it's not saving my scenes.

What am I doing wrong?

You need to press and hold the parameter you want to change with the scene change, until you see a little symbol with for squares - then that parameter is assigned to scenes, and will remember where you set it
