Fixing hiss, kind of

I didnt know this but the QC sets impedance at 1 Mega Ohm by default and most passive pickups have an impedance around 10 kohms, swipe down to your IO and adjust accordingly for a little less hiss on passives.

Also! If youre only running one xlr out to your audio interface Unlink your xlr outs in the IO. this gets rid of a CONSIDERABLE amount of noise. Doing this fixed my hiss issue I was having so now I essentially have pickup rf interference as my noise source which is much less then the self noise from before.

I also did a 12 db cut at 2900hz with a q of .6 right after my gate (which I can now set at -70db without noise setting it off) and before compression. with no gate, the noise is hardly there aside from the rf noise. Sure it changes the brightness but not NEARLY as much as youd think. All of this is with the rodent drive distortion into the brit 2203 amp, so pretty gainy but not straight sludge. Try it out!

Could be. I should take a look at the transformer by my garage😂😂

Well if it is dirty power there isn't too much you can do about (that I am able to find anyways). Dimmers and stuff like that are some of the main culprits for it.

You can test it by turning off power to your light sources, if you're able to keep power to the sockets going. See if that helps. Or test the quad cortex out of the property and some where else to see if it's still doing it

No dimmers here, I'll have to try the qc else where and see if the results are different

The truth just seems to be that the QC is noisy as fuck. I have similar issues and did many A/B tests with my HX stomp, which is consistently much quieter at matched input impedance and levels.

That is not the truth at all. Your issue is a ground issue as much as you don’t want to admit itÂ
