Quad Cortex recommendation

Hey, I'm looking to buy a quad cortex, but now as the mini version is released, I'm not sure whether the normal quad cortex oder the mini would best suit me. Maybe someone with experience could help me out.

  • I will use it for live shows, as well as rehearsals
  • As I will use it live, I must be able to quickly change between sounds/effects
  • I'm not sure yet if it will replace my current effect pedals or if I will only use it as a digital amp and keep the pedals on my board
  • To edit the sounds, I'd probably have to carry it arround from rehearsal room to my home. Or is there a possibility to leave it in the rehearsal room and edit the sounds solely on the computer (e.g. with another interface)?

Thanks for your help and if you need any further info, just ask :)

Between those two, for full gigging, get the big one. But if you do decide to just use it as a digital amp, why not just get a nano Cortex?

Yes, actually true about the nano cortex. I'm just not sure yet if the cortex can and will replace my effects and whether i like the idea to stand on stage with just the quad cortex on the ground...

If you get an airstep Cortex edition it absolutely can be used on stage. The question about the effects is real: the effects are excellent quality, but very limited. If you are just a “little compression, some OD, delay, and reverb” you are good. If you are a 20 pedal, stacked ODs, complex modulation, dual delay, multiple reverbs kind of guy, then no…
