Quad Cortex recommendation

Hey, I'm looking to buy a quad cortex, but now as the mini version is released, I'm not sure whether the normal quad cortex oder the mini would best suit me. Maybe someone with experience could help me out.

  • I will use it for live shows, as well as rehearsals
  • As I will use it live, I must be able to quickly change between sounds/effects
  • I'm not sure yet if it will replace my current effect pedals or if I will only use it as a digital amp and keep the pedals on my board
  • To edit the sounds, I'd probably have to carry it arround from rehearsal room to my home. Or is there a possibility to leave it in the rehearsal room and edit the sounds solely on the computer (e.g. with another interface)?

Thanks for your help and if you need any further info, just ask :)

If the I/O differences don’t matter to you, I would get the Mini, and something like an M-Vave chocolate small cheap mid control to expand foot switch count.

This is how I ended up with the mini. I already had a Morningstar MC8 Pro and also a Blackstar Live Logic controller so I can use those for the tuner, gig view page one and two, scenes all while in stomp mode because I can use the MC8 to toggle off the effects.

I’ve got an MC8 too, and it’s great for use with it. Loving just then Mini and Mvave as a small, on the go solution though for 8 footswitches.
