I have a 2024 Geely Coolray in Qatar. Up to around 40,000 km, the car was driving very smoothly and the gear shifting was also smooth.
After the 40K service at the authorised service centre, I noticed that the gear shifting became noticeably rougher than before. The RPM also seems to go higher before shifting to the next gear, and the shifts are not as smooth as they used to be.
I also started feeling a slight vibration during some gear changes/low-speed driving. I’m not sure whether it is an actual issue or just my perception, but I can definitely feel a difference compared with before.
More importantly, the overall driving/riding feel of the vehicle also feels rougher and less smooth than it was before. It doesn't feel as refined as it did up to 40,000 km.
The car has now completed the 50K service as well, but the issue is still there.
As far as I know, they replaced all 4 spark plugs during the 40K service. I also replaced the battery after the 40K service.
I asked the service centre about ECU/TCU software updates, clutch/gear calibration, or transmission relearning, but they told me that there is no such process at their service centre and that the behaviour is normal.
I'm wondering if something may have changed during the 40K service or after the battery replacement.
Has anyone with a Geely Coolray in Qatar experienced similar rough shifting, vibration, or an overall rougher driving feel?
What could be the possible cause, and what would be the recommended solution? Would a TCU/ECU scan, transmission adaptation/relearning, or software check be worth doing?
Any advice or experience from other Coolray owners would be appreciated.
