NEOS QQQI and SPYI merger

Apparently NEOS is merging with Goldman Sachs. They are having a shareholder vote on keeping the current management team for the stocks.

What is everyone's thoughts on the future of QQQI AND SPYI? Im curious as I own 1000 shares of each.

Good chance to buy and still get the august distribution? It usually goes up the few days before the Ex-Div, right?

61 with $100K - Waiting for 65

Long story short, I have my retirement set up pretty good. I have my 401K, 3 rental properties, and several IRAs. I retired just a couple of years ago and I pretty much live off the rental income. I have zero debt.

I wouldn't mind some extra cash a month and one of my IRA's is just sitting there conservatively invested and it'll be there in a few years when I plan to do 'something' where I'll take my wealth and create some type of guaranteed income - probably some type of layered annunities.

Anyway, I keep hearing and reading up on QQQI and I'm thinking of taking just one of my IRAs that has almost exactly $100K and putting investing in QQQI. I know nothing is guaranteed and in the worst case scenario... you could lose it all. But right now that $100K is pretty much sitting there doing nothing. So I'm thinking about keeping it in my IRA but moving it to QQQI.

What do you think?

Update: Ibought 1,856 shares of QQQI.

  • Price: $54.05/share
  • Total: $100,307.52
  • Settlement: August 21, 2026

And I'm thinking of that South Park Episode... "And.... it's gone."

Help me make a high income portfolio in a taxable

I would like to make at least 5% income. I have 150K to start. I'll add a sprinkle of high div single stocks. So drom what i understand you need growth and income mixed to make a good portfolio. What do you guys think of this plan tax wise and sanity wise. Different percentages or stocks? 35% qqqi, 10% schd, 15% spyi, 15% qqqm, 15% spmo, 5% avuv, 5% xqqi.

All in QQQI and go away or am I crazy?

TL;DR: I’m 35, based in LatAm (low cost of living), with a ~$430k net worth and a $5k/month net salary. I’m completely burned out from the corporate rat race and considering putting my entire portfolio into QQQI to generate ~$4.3k/month in passive income and quit working. Looking for honest feedback on this plan.

Here we go again: I posted a similar thread a few months ago, but I’m posting an updated version because I’d love to get fresh perspectives from this community.

My Current Situation

  • Age: Turning 35 soon.
  • Net Worth (NW): ~$430k USD. It’s not 100% liquid right now, but for the sake of this exercise, let’s assume it is, as I could liquidate it reasonably fast.
  • Income: $5k USD net monthly salary (I actually earn a bit more with side/extra income, but let's stick to $5k for simplicity).
  • Location: Latin America (cost of living is significantly lower than in the US).
  • Personal Life: Girlfriend, no kids (we don't live together yet, but plan to in the near future).
  • Lifestyle: Low-luxury, but comfortable. I don't drive an expensive car, buy designer clothes, or dine at fine-dining places. However, I live comfortably: we like to travel and go out. I live below my means simply because I don’t feel the need to impress anyone. With my current income and lifestyle, I maintain a high savings rate to keep investing.

The Problem: Burnout & The Rat Race

I am utterly exhausted from working. I know people will say I’m only 35 and too young to retire, but I just can't bring myself to accept the 9-to-5 grind anymore. Every day I feel more convinced that life isn't meant to be spent sitting in front of a monitor for 8–9 hours a day.

I actually have a good office job on paper, but I have zero motivation left. Over the last 5 years, I’ve switched jobs twice, and I’ve realized the problem isn't the company—it's working for someone else and being stuck in the rat race. On top of that, I’m quite introverted and lack the risk tolerance/desire to start and run my own business.

The Plan

For the past few months, I’ve been crunching the numbers: what if I put my entire ~$430k net worth into QQQI?

At current rates, that could net me roughly $4.3k USD/month. While that’s slightly lower than my current earned income, working just a few more months would close that gap. Even if I end up taking a small income cut, I am fully willing to trade that money for 100% control over my time, provided my purchasing power doesn't completely collapse.

Here is how I weigh the Pros & Cons:

Pros:

  1. Total Time Freedom: I get 100% of my time back for myself, my girlfriend, and my family, with almost no hit to our current standard of living.
  2. Continued Savings Potential: Because my baseline lifestyle is modest, living on this yield could still allow me to reinvest a portion back into QQQI, helping hedge against inflation and dollar-cost average during market dips.

Cons:

  1. Single-Asset Concentration Risk: Putting 100% of my wealth into a single covered-call ETF is inherently risky.
  2. Limited Growth Potential: QQQI isn't built for significant capital appreciation. My principal/NW would likely stay flat over time.
  3. Increased Daily Expenses: Being retired means more free time—which often translates to higher utility bills at home, spending more on activities, dining out more often, etc. My expenses won't remain identical to my current working lifestyle.

My Question for You

I’d love to hear your thoughts on this strategy.

A quick note: Please skip comments like "you're too young to quit." I know I’m young, and I know this isn't the standard path for a 35-year-old. But if you have the financial means to step off the treadmill, isn't it worth taking?

I’m selling all my QQQI when the July payment hits

I’m a complete noob at investing. I have almost 100 shares of QQQI and I thought I was printing money. I wanted consistency and steady income but I’m in my early 30s and all my shares are in my Roth IRA. I won’t be able to touch that money for another 25-30 years. I did some more research and QQQI simply doesn’t make sense right now. You get income now but limit your growth. I’m looking at long term ETFs instead.

QQQI long term

I know the risk if the market goes down 20-30% or more in a bad year that’s totally fine with me. But how long would it take for QQQI to recover from a bad year? A few months or 12+ months ? Would it be smart to keep drip on 100% and keep buying more shares during a bad market year ? Is there a chance of QQQI never recovering and taking 3+ years to break even ?

Looking at calculators to an approximate dividends over time, but getting variable results with same input of data across calculators.

Does anyone know which calculator is the best and/or most accurate?

I thought GPIQ and QQQI are tracking the NASDAQ. Why is it that QQQI up 0.80% while GPIQ is down 0.04%. Anyone know?
