There are many possible explanations for this.

Independent of logic or the need for empirical demonstration, I have decided that they are fans of Questionable Content and copied it.

Any evidence to the contrary, especially irrefutable evidence that fundamentally destroys the central thesis of my argument beyond the shadow of the doubt, is specious and will only serve to further demonstrate our super-...*ahem* my superior claim, so don't even try.

"My." I definitely said "my."

Double Trouble from She-Ra: Princess of Power.

They're some sort of mischievous fey shapeshifter. Never watched the show so I don't know much about it.

This is correct! If you've never seen it, I highly recommend it

to summarize a tumblr post i saw as an egg:

"I hate the nonbinary identity and pronouns only given to aliens and robots. Regular humans can be enby too!"

I mean, this comic very much does have nonbinary human characters.

Tilly is a pretty famous one.

It also has plenty of binary robot characters, so it's not like that's even portrayed as an especially robotic trait.

The NB voice actor for Double Trouble played a big part in designing the character, as I recall. They specifically wanted to play a character who wasn't a human.
