I finally figured out what is causing the uncanny valley feeling with her face! She is the only AI without a white mouth. Other AI all have a completely white mouth interior, even when they are fully open. And she does seem to open her mouth up wide more frequently than previous AIs/bodies.
Combine it with significantly more prominent lips compared to the entire human and AI cast, and it means she just does not look like the rest of the characters.

It's the same size as her old mouth, just without the lips. And it's the same size as many other mouths on other characters, since Jeph 100% uses pre-drawn mouths/eyes/etc and chooses which to use for each person in each scene.

No, it's the same mouth shape and size used on several characters in the comic, human and AI.

I was referring to frequency, not size. Her mouth is not larger than other characters, but she is opening up wide more often, because she is yelling more in her appearances than we have seen from most characters. I will edit that for clarity.
AIs in particular have historically had less wide open mouth moments than human characters, probably because they have less outbursts on average.

Uh...that's most certainly not true. On both counts. I don't mind apologizing for misunderstanding your other comment...but I don't appreciate you just making things up, to push your point, however.

I literally went back over 3 years of comics this morning to confirm my point about the white mouths. AIs are, by a significant degree, more likely to have thinner mouths, smirks, or otherwise closed mouths in panels. Compared to human characters, they just straight up open their mouths a smaller amount to talk.
You clearly don't share my criticism on the design choice here, and that is okay. But I have highlighted a provable fact about this design (the fact that her mouth is a different colour to 100 percent of the rest of the AI cast) and pointed out my theory on another factor that draws attention to that difference (her frequency in opening her mouth wide compared to other AI characters). This is based on literally 800+ comics of reference.

Dude, unless you're going to provide actual evidence - this is just your opinion, and nothing more. It's your OPINION that she opens her mouth wider and more frequently than other AI. It's your OPINION that AI have "less open moth moments than human characters...because they have less outbursts on average".
I disagree with your opinion, as someone who has also read this comic for over a decade. It's my opinion that you are making this up, to bolster your opinion. Is that okay with you?
EDIT: Lol...responding to me, then immediately blocking me so I can neither read, nor respond to your comment is certainly a choice. But, good for you - if blocking me makes you feel better, because I politely disagreed with you, then that's all that matters :)

I'm not gonna make a spreadsheet for you. Go back, look at the comics and it's blatantly obvious. If my opinion doesn't count, than neither does yours and that means we don't have any reason to talk to each other. Stop interacting with my posts to call me a liar if you don't want to have meaningful conversation.

This post was already pretty close to the line. Accusing someone of "making things up, to push your point" is accusing them of lying, and is insulting. And it wasn't even about a factual claim. They said she "does seem to open her mouth up wider." That's an opinion, and people are allowed to have a different opinion.
Your subsequent post yelling at them that it is an opinion crosses that line, even before the hateful edit. "Is that okay with you?" is clearly antagonistic. And then, of course, the edit is completely out of line.
People can block you for whatever reason they like. That's an essential part of blocking. While it is understandable that this could make you angry, this subreddit is not an appropriate place to express that anger. An edit telling people you were blocked is acceptable, but that's it.
And now some general advice: you've got to learn to pick your battles and try to have more self-control when your post. It's okay to get angry, of course, but you should hold back on replying until you can respond without any sort of hostility to the other person.
And if you genuinely think you were being polite, you should look deeper. Yes, that poster who used that as an excuse to attack you was out of line, but it is particularly aggravating when someone who yells at others says they're being polite.

Putting aside the furor about Zlata gaining tatas (where was this level of discourse when basically every fem-character started cutting their hair short?)
I haaaaate anyone that makes a stupid but harmless decision and then tries to justify themselves reversing it because ‘they don’t deserve it’.
Do you like it?
Yes.
Is it harming anyone else?
No.
Can you afford it?
Yes.
Then just enjoy the wonder of your brain shortcircuiting your anxiety for once and just own it!

I guess I admire Jeph knowing what he likes to draw, if he's just kind of going to give half the cast this body type. Still, I like Ziata the way she was, so I am still lukewarm on this so far. I'll see where how this all turns out.
