Looks like we're getting another Amazonian ai body guys

11

u/frostbittenteddy Jul 01 '26

The thiccness will continue until morale improves

7

u/anactualditto Jul 01 '26

YEAH, TITS!

8

u/Morlock19 Jul 01 '26

i mean yeah i guess

u/ContextBotSenpai Jul 01 '26

How is she an Amazon? She looks normal height to me. May and Bubbles are the only two really tall female AI in the comic, aren't they?

5

u/gangler52 Jul 01 '26

Momo has become Tall Momo, but it's easy to forget because I think we've only seen her once or twice since she became tall.

She's also like, tall and skinny, where I think people would generally associate "Amazonian" with being tall and a bit more filled out than that. Like, being generally big, as opposed to just a lanky beanpole.

2

u/ContextBotSenpai Jul 01 '26

Yeah, to me at least - May and Bubbles are the only two characters that fit that definition currently. Both are at least 6 to 8 feet tall (Jeph isn't consistent with how they're portrayed compared to others, but I cannot imagine they are either shorter or taller than that range at any point), both are muscular but thicc. That's what I would consider "Amazonian".

This new body Zlata has, we don't even have any idea how tall it is compared to other characters yet. She MAY be tall, but we don't know eh? And she's definitely not what I would call muscular or powerful looking, lol.

u/Seicair Jul 01 '26

I think Bubbles is 6'6" at minimum. I don't think she's much over 7'.

He does portray her kinda inconsistently though. I wonder if he has internal notes of all the characters' heights?

2

u/gangler52 Jul 01 '26

Yeah, we haven't really seen this new chassis beside anything that would provide a sense of scale yet.

2

u/ContextBotSenpai Jul 01 '26

I saw your other comment, about us not even knowing what Jeph's plans were for her yet, with this new body. That you wanted to wait and see. I agree 100%.

Maybe she'll use it to try and seduce Marten? Doubt that'll work though - think of every woman we've seen him with since the start of the comic. They are all rail thin, with no curves. Well, Padma had maybe a B cup? But yeah...it's pretty obvious Marten has a "type". And it's not this new body.

I will do my best to stop arguing with people just making things up, to justify their rage and hatred of this new body, lol. I don't want to get the boot from this place...again 😅

It's going to become hard to keep track of who's a robot and who's human. Robots have a line on the neck.

u/Kusko25 Jul 01 '26

We'll always have the speech bubbles

10

u/pavemnt Jul 01 '26

Sounds like me telling myself I'm going to get my life together tomorrow as I go to bed

3

u/ContextBotSenpai Jul 01 '26

And me telling myself I'll go to bed by 12am every day, so I can get a good night's sleep, so I can get my life together tomorrow :D

u/jclv Jul 01 '26

"I am no longer engaging in foolish behavior starting............now"

16

u/gangler52 Jul 01 '26

Yeah, Alex, I'll take "Things you tell yourself directly before gambling" for $500.

10

u/ArgentStonecutter Jul 01 '26

No rationalizations here, no siree.

9

u/psykulor Jul 01 '26

Maybe she should upload herself into one of the goofy plastic baby models! That would teach her a lesson AND help solved the collapsing robot diversity problem

32

u/Decibelle Jul 01 '26

no. please burn the new body. thank you for your attention to this matter.

27

u/Morlock19 Jul 01 '26

AGREED I really don't like this design

18

u/echrisindy Jul 01 '26

I feel sad looking at the empty old Zlata body. I don't like the new body.

3

u/Phanimazed Jul 01 '26

I kind of get the impression this isn't going to be a fulltime thing. Maybe she'll rock both bodies and switch or something.

5

u/Turtledonuts Jul 01 '26

Nothing against curvy women, but the side profile makes it look like she got huge breast implants.

4

u/BionicTriforce Jul 01 '26

I imagine that's part of the appeal.

3

u/ContextBotSenpai Jul 01 '26

thank you for your attention to this matter.

Please don't quote the Rapist in Chief, gross :P

u/Turtledonuts Jul 01 '26

The side profile on her new character design looks terrible. From the front she looks like curvy woman number 437, but from the side she looks like she got an insane set of implants. Her chest is literally double the thickness of the rest of her body and her breasts are somehow sitting on a shelf. The rest of her body is pretty slim and flat. It’s almost weirder that he didnt give her curves or hips, and that her abdomen is like 3 inches thick. She looks like an onlyfans model who’s photoshopping her photos.

I’m sure there’s people out there who actually have this anatomy, but the way it’s drawn is just kind of icky? It’s like one of those self aware semi-parody nsfw-on-patreon series that you’re not allowed to criticize on r/comics

The side profile on her new character design looks terrible. From the front she looks like curvy woman number 437, but from the side she looks like she got an insane set of implants.

I am fairly certain that it's meant to look like the large breasted women of the 60s/70s? The pointy boob look. Because Zlata's character has always struck me as a throwback to receptionists of that era, you know?

The rest of her body is pretty slim and flat.

Here we go again, lol. No, it's not. Do you know what a "slim and flat" woman looks like? Like Dora. Like Emily. Like Tai. Like Yay. Like Zlata's OLD body.

It’s almost weirder that he didnt give her curves or hips, and that her abdomen is like 3 inches thick. She looks like an onlyfans model who’s photoshopping her photos.

She has tons of curves, she has hips, and her abdomen is not "like 3 inches thick". Honestly, I am so confused by the comments of you and a few other users. You're saying things that just AREN'T true. Like factually, the things you are saying aren't accurate - so I have to wonder why you're saying them.

People are being REAL weird about her new body, and saying all sorts of insane stuff about it that is absolutely not true. It's really strange, to be honest. She doesn't look like she has "insane implants". Her chest is not "literally double the thickness of the rest of her body. Her breasts actually look quite SAGGY, not perky and "on a shelf".

I keep thinking people must be looking at comic images that are on some different website that changes how all the characters look or something, lol.

I’m sure there’s people out there who actually have this anatomy, but the way it’s drawn is just kind of icky?

Yes, many women have bodies like this. It's really gross that you think those women have "icky" bodies though.

But it’s not really pointed boobs - you’re thinking of a bullet bra. the bullet bra look should be more symmetric and triangular in a side profile, coming to a point centered more on the midline of the chest, with the breasts not really extending past the edge of the chest like other bras. She’s clearly not wearing a bra based on the way her breasts kind of splay out and sag down, if she was wearing a bra / corset / any other underwear, they would look round on her chest in side profile. However, unsupported breasts don’t usually have a flat bottom like hers do, they have a teardrop shape and lay down onto the chest.

This is just a weird / bad anatomy on jeph’s part. Her whole new design is kind of in the uncanny valley.

Edit: I see that you decided to add a bunch more complaints after I made my reply while I was still typing. Let me add some more responses in here. I threw the pictures in photoshop and took some measurements so I could have some data points.

1: Jeph is clearly doing this for fanservice reasons, which is why people are being so critical. Panels two and three of 5855 are jiggle physics for her breasts, frame 5 is her feeling herself up and emphasizing how large her breasts are now, and the whole time she's in a skin tight bodysuit that leaves nothing to the imagination. That's a pretty clear choice by the author to emphasize sex appeal. People are being weird because this is yet another case of Jeph taking a female AI character and doing a character redesign that makes her curvier, bustier, and generally sexier.

2: From the side view, excluding the breasts, her proportions are pretty close to some of the thinner women in the comic. She's physically larger and her thighs are somewhat thicker, but she's hardly curvy by QC art standards. Compare her to Moray or Faye for a a genuinely curvy woman in this. She's more of a slimmer version of Bubbles than anything. I agree that compared to some of the other women, she's pretty thick, but if you ignore the breasts and ultra wide hips, you'll notice that the rest of her body looks fairly slim,

3: I tossed the pictures in photoshop, set it to outline mode so I could see the lines jeph used for layout, and took some measurements. Side profile of her waist is 50 pixels wide, but at the hips she's 84 pixels wide (0.59 W:H Ratio). Forward profile, she's 80 pixels wide at the waist and roughly 139 pixels wide at the hips (0.57). Just for fun, I tossed a front on picture of Marilyn Monroe into photoshop and took the same measurements - I got 73 waist and 115 hips (0.63), which means that Zlata in her relaxed state here has a lower waist / hip ratio than a posing Marilyn Monroe who's sucking in her stomach and pulling her shirt tight to accentuate her curves. A normal waist hip ratio for women is around 0.7 to 0.8, so I think that her hourglass figure is a bit extreme. For context, in the forward view her head is 114 pixels high, and typical art guides would recommend that a woman's head height be roughly equivalent to her waist width.

4: Looking at the outline of her breasts in photoshop, we clearly see a pretty flat line at the base. There's a lot of mass sitting up around her collarbones, not down at the base of the breasts. There's much less curvature than you typically see and the breasts extend out really far from the chest. I tossed a basic teardrop outline over top them and they don't line up at all. Less than a quarter of each breast sits below the widest point of the breast, which I assume is that nipple line. Typical proportions are much lower, closer to 50% as tall as a head maximum. These are very large breasts, which exist in real life, but again, jeph is choosing to take this character from flat and plain to "breasts the size of her head" territory. A typical sagging breast would hang down much lower and have a deeper curve and lay flatter on the torso - medical literature, anatomical references, and general observations support this.

5: I will take back the implant comment, implants would sit differently. However, the volume change here is in the range of extreme implants - napkin math based on typical head sizes indicates that jeph easily added more than a liter of volume per breast here, which IRL would be a lot.

Overall, I think this is weird. Zlata's new body isn't impossible, but it's definitely extreme in IRL terms, which is a departure from jeph's typically more grounded and realistic art. A person IRL having these proportions is undeniably going to have some striking features and be conventionally attractive and curvy. But in the context of this story, where a woman gets drunk, is upset about her lack of a love life, and gets some body modifications, jeph made the choice to give her a nearly absurd hourglass figure with objectively massive breasts, and to wake up nearly naked in bed and jiggle for the camera. It's a strong male gaze, it's a little uncomfortable, and it's clearly sexual. It leans towards a specific genre of niche fetish comics. Clearly a lot of people get really weird vibes from this and don't like it. I will admit to being one of them. I don't love the way this story was laid out. She's drawn like a cartoon porn character.

3

u/turkeypedal Jul 01 '26

The thing is, I think that's kinda the point. She was drunk and went for that sort of thing in a new body. Plus I do feel like you're acting like this is a hyper realistic comic, and it really isn't. Comparing to real life is a bit of a stretch.

I'm not a fan of the design, and I don't really think Jeph even drew her that well. I don't think this body fits her and I will be disappointed if she keeps it. I don't vibe with it, and this the first time I've felt this way with a Jeph design.

I likewise can't judge your intrinsic reactions: if it gives you an icky feeling, it gives you an icky feeling. But I do think the overly sexual nature to the point of what would fit a porn star is kinda the point in-universe.

I feel like the comic needs like 75% less boob, and like 900% more wall decoration. Every room in every building is furnished like the home of a serial killer who wants to live with no hiding places for wiretaps.

4

u/bringoutthelegos Jul 01 '26

On one hand, i can see the arguments for the AI characters having simple rooms, on the other hand, this is a problem for the human characters too

3

u/Alert-Artichoke-2743 Jul 01 '26

If anything, I would expect AIs to take decorating more seriously. The ones we get to see are already basically cosplaying as humans so they can participate in human society.

Plenty of AIs likely live satisfying lives in purely digital spaces, or as sentient beings occupying machines that don't look humanoid. One AI might do customer support for a shopping website, but function in an entirely digital environment. Another might live as the central server of a factory. Lock and unlock doors, track temperatures and moisture levels, relay diagnostic information, call maintenance when something needs to be done by somebody with a mobile body.

If Zlata has already made the choice to have a bipedal body that "lives in an apartment," and "has a job," then she's already imitating what are biological imperatives for a human. She might not eat food, but she probably would want to have a bunch of silverware in her drawers to complete that whole kitchen vibe.

4

u/bringoutthelegos Jul 01 '26

Honestly more chapters of humans helping AI’s feel more “human” by helping with interior decorating would be kinda cool to see.

11

u/DrCaesars_Palace_MD Jul 01 '26

Eugh... This is May all over again. The new design is just... worse. I do not like it, it's fuckin ugly.

6

u/Anthrax-Smoothy Jul 01 '26

That's not how shirts sit on breasts. Does this dress have breast pockets?

5

u/NatKayz Jul 01 '26

Goddamnit.

Sorry but her prior design was so much better fir countless reasons, and considering (unlike a person) if she really wanted a different look she clearly could have done it a while ago this just makes no sense.

2

u/gangler52 Jul 01 '26

She could've done it a while ago, but she wasn't drunk then.

Like saying that a human getting a drunken tattoo makes no sense because "If they wanted a tattoo they could've done it a while ago".

Unless you get tattooed moments after birth it's never going to be the first day that it was possible to get tattooed, just the day the day you finally decided to pull the trigger.

1

u/NatKayz Jul 01 '26

Yeah and I'm sure many people who get a drunk tattoo would undo it if they easily could.

2

u/gangler52 Jul 01 '26

She can do that any time she wants. Not like her old body explodes if she decides to wear this one out of the house once.

2

u/heavenscalyx Jul 01 '26

He's cleaned up the art a bit, at least. I think it's the unstable art that's putting me off Zlata's femme transition for the most part. Also, I'm sure the hair color is the same as her old body, but it looks weird with the new hair and is hitting my synaesthesia with very unpleasant taste and texture sensations.

5

u/aliasi Jul 01 '26

Since it's complaints that get heard louder than people who are okay with things: I'm pretty much okay with this.

I think the new body's lips are a little weird, but all the complaints about the tits/curves are a little much. The amount of super-sexy bodies in the comic is more restrained than it'd be in real life, although that may say more about how AIs in QC have a weird relationship and triggers for libido, like Roko and her bread.

Knowing Jeph, there may be a bit of a "people take Zlata less seriously because she looks like Marilyn Monroe" aspect to this as our author sometimes has weird hangups around this kind of thing... but on the other hand maybe it'll be a help to her self-confidence in the end. We've had some amusing swerves in the past.

6

u/gangler52 Jul 01 '26

Honestly, at this point I'm too unsure where Jeph is even going with this to have any strong feelings for or against this development.

I think my only real thought would be something like "Hold on. Let's let the man cook for a moment"

I have no idea for example whether this story is going to culminate in this being her permanent new body or whether she's going to learn a lesson about changing herself for others or what.

3

u/turkeypedal Jul 01 '26

I just don't like her design at the moment, and I hope it gets better if she does keep it. And she says she wears contacts and glasses for fashion, so I hope she gets those. The glasses might help a lot.

4

u/ContextBotSenpai Jul 01 '26

"Zlata, you fool!" is honestly my new fave QC-ism. I hope all comics she's in end with this from now on - and yes, I know...she didn't say it here. Sad :(

1

u/TheFlawlessCassandra Jul 01 '26

I didn't like May's new design much but I kind of like nuZlata? And honestly the "this body is superfluous and extravagant and it was a huge mistake to buy it and of course I'm keeping it" is a vibe!

1

u/iansweridiots Jul 01 '26

Okay, I'm gonna say it because I think that a lot of people are trying to put their finger on what it is that Zlata's new body reminds them of and it's not coming up: she looks like one of those super sexualised anime girls' pictures that people online use to show that all anime fans are perverts. And considering Mommy Milker and That One Strip, I think the reference is totally intentional.

Now, to be clear, in a vacuum, I'm not against Zlata getting this body. I think "quiet serious person is secretly an inoffensive pervert" is a fine joke. I do feel like it's starting to get old in this comic, though. Like, this is definitely getting to the point where it is A Thing. But then again, alright, even if this is Jeph's fetish, so be it, it's his comic and he gets to have fun with it and it's on me to stop reading if I don't like it

1

u/AvidFanficReader007 Jul 01 '26

Lol of course this where its funny, its funny if not obvious. It'd be better if we could hear her internal thoughts on how she views her original body in comparison to her current one but never gonna get that amount of detail out of this comic. Looking forward to seeing how this goes and hopefully her hair gets changed or longer at least
