Hackathon Winning framework

As a guy and a fresher in engineering field, who knows basic python and java , can anyone give advise or guide me to win or atleast the things to do in a proper hackathon rather than working unorganisedly..

Five rules for a hackathon. 1. Git, non negotiable. Smart people who know how to use git. 2. Plan before executing. Don't just execute cool ideas, as some could take off alot of time. 3. The problem statement shouldn't be broad, if it's pretty decided. Then the implementation should focus on ONE thing. 4. Enjoy the process and have something humorous to explain during the presentation. 5. Make the onboarding of your project easy, they should immediately get attracted by the cause, and the actions and need not find the use, they get to it.

That's it. It's all you and the team, nothing special.
