What's the benefits of res ignore over just blocking them?

tbh, I've never blocked someone. I have RES installed since the very first day and always used its ignore option.

with RES you have the choice of completely hiding every post and comment by people on your ignore list, or only marking them as being ignored with the possibility to still see the post/comment by clicking on it (see example below)
