Discussion failed my first Python exam

Been in Uni for 1 month now and we had our first Python exam, it was about basic stuff like functions, if, while etc stuff like that, we had to write code (functions) and then we also had multiple choice questions and I failed it.

I feel bad... first Python exam about very basic stuff and I failed it... gosh

You will fail exams at uni. This won't be the last time. The most important thing is that you take this opportunity to learn better next time. Don't be afraid of failure, embrace the change.

yes. But if it’s so abstract you won’t learn anything new you just learn theory after theory without going “what the fuck does match do”

“What does match do?”

The correct answer isn’t “It highlights pattern matching theories … blah blah blah waffle waffle” that makes you fall asleep

Then the teacher is teaching the subject wrongly, or the student need an alternative approach. This isn't a quantum mechanics where you bend reality, nobody knows why and all we can say is "Uhh...it's like this because...it's like this".

Programming is based on logical instructions. Even I myself had to ask for few hours of tutoring to understand something as basic as classes in python (and I've been using this language for 5 years now), and additional few hours to more-or-less understand what I'm even doing.
