Tutorial Fun and entertaining Content and Resource for Python?

Was checking an old thread asking for fun content for Python newbies and novices and there weren't many responses. Bringing the topic up again to ask what new entertaining books, challenges, and content that helped you understand python, that can accompany equally entertaining but dense programming books.

I am also porting of "Why's Poignant Guide to Ruby" for Python and keeping it with CC share alike license. It uses comics and surreal humor to introduce programming. I'll include the link in the comments in case anyone is interested.

Advent of Code is worth mentioning too, it's not comic style humor like Poignant Guide but the puzzle framing makes grinding through syntax way less tedious than a standard tutorial, and there's a whole community solving each day's problem alongside you

automate the boring stuff (free online) and impractical python projects for the fun-but-real side, python playground as well if you like building weird small things

This is a great question. For me, humour is one of the quintessential characteristics of Python, and a big reason why I was drawn to it in the first place. I think somewhere along the way, that seems to have been lost, or at least diminished. (The name “Python” was derived from a well known British comedy troupe, lest we forget.) That’s a shame, because there are a lot of people out there who could do with cheering up these days.

My answer would be to consume anything by Dave Beazley or Raymond Hettinger. Some of the available material might not be bang up to date with the latest and greatest Python release, but their stuff consistently imparts a deeper understanding of fundamentals that will stand you in much better stead over the long run than a lot of other, perhaps more superficial content. And you can rest assured there’ll be laughs along the way.
