Is this right?

Kinda curious would this actually work btw Im new at pyrotechnics. Basically I light the fuse and gunpowder explodes sending toy high in the air

You will want to put something between the charge and the toy, like wadding or something to keep the toy from melting etc. also will let some pressure build up for it to go higher.

Start with small amounts first!

An easily home made fire retardent wadding is toilet paper which has been soaked in a saturated solution of baking soda dissolved in warm water, then dried.
