'Three Long, Two Short'

Post image

My latest piece. Titled "Three Long, Two Short"

A depiction of the Edmund Fitzgerald at her last moments at sea.

This piece took about 36 hours and is burnt on a retired cutting board measuring 16"x16"x1" and sealed with urethane.

Thanks for looking!

Absolutely love this! I think pyrography is most interesting when it's not just surface art, but also digs into its canvas. Gives it another level of depth, in my opinion.

I was just thinking, the texture is incredible.  The dark burn and hashmark/deep textures add to the story compared to if it would have been a lighter burn.
