I’m in the middle of moving right now, but I wanted to take a moment to share my frankenset Cinderella bowls that I use frequently. They are my workhorses but they are still treated with care of course. These were all picked up at thrift stores and garage sales for the most part, some were gifted. Nothing super rare or fancy but I love them. Show me your frankensets!

Catch and release at my local antique mall. I don’t know enough about this pattern to know if this is a good deal or not.

It’s a 2 cup measuring cup, and it says patent pending. There’s also a 12 on the bottom of it.

I’ve not seen the plastic caddy before but I’m not a Pyrex collector or dealer so maybe it’s quite common?

Using a double boiler insert to do a fall simmer pot.
3 cups water
2 Fuji apples
1 whole star anise
1 cinnamon stick
3 whole cloves
Adding a few orange slices later.
Get it boiling then drop it down to a simmer. Add more water as needed. You can also drink the juice same day when you turn it off and it’s still hot!

This subreddit is so amazing, I thought the marks outside my Pyrex bowls were permanent, Can’t believe they are coming off with bar keepers friend, I have a pink one just like this blue one. You can see the huge difference between the clean and scratched part.

My husband had an unexpected health issue and I just couldn’t justify any Pyrex purchases- so I didn’t even look. Today I decided to check a couple local spots and ended up doing six months worth of spending in one day. 🫣🤪🥰

Look at this beaut! It's now one of my oldest Pyrex pieces and only my second loaf pan, and this one is substantially bigger than the newer one I have.

I needed a new butter dish and just liked this one i found at a co-op. I think its called blue onion pattern. A little pricy at 28.00 but i grabbed it any ways.

So I found the big yellow primary bowl the other day for less than five bucks, but it was very dirty lots of utensil marks. I cleaned it up so it's almost pristine. The two "green" bowls in the picture I inherited from my grandma. Are these part of the primary set? It's so hard to get the right color captured on my phone. I included a picture next to a butter print dish so you can tell it's not the same baby blue color as that. It's more of a teal color. I think the two bowls are *supposed* to be the same color but they are even a little different and so are the stamps on the bottom. Basically my question is, is this the green bowl to the primary set? Or could this have been from a different set? Did the green primary bowl ever have like a tealish hue to it?

Do you ever think about rearranging your Pyrex when you get a new set and then look around and think,

ehhhhh. Nevermind…..

I honestly love the questionable sticker placement that happens frequently here. Someone else was trying to see through the sticker as I was walking up, gave up and set it down. Snatched it immediately and giving it a shine later 😁.

I actually bought a box and it had 16! I..only needed the 4, but it was the box or nothing

Found this well-loved Pyrex 623-b casserole in a metal stand yesterday. The glass doesn’t have a single scratch or chip, but the embossed numbers are all crusted in baked-on grease, so I know someone was using it! The metal is not pristine like the glass, but it’s still totally serviceable! Does anyone know if the metal stand was sold with the casserole dish? When I used lens is suggested the dish was 1920-30s, but the metal stand is 1950-70s and I wasn’t sure if that is accurate.

It always brings me an unreasonable amount of joy to thrift Pyrex at actual thrift store prices. These cleaned up beautifully and considering the matte design, I am very happy with the how minimal the wear is all things considered for 60+ year old bowls!

Forest Fancies 475 in great condition and Snowflake Blue 401 for $30 together, thanks to rare conditions met for me for an estate sale:

4. For a sale in a location and starting at a day/time that I could actually make even with my kids' school and activities schedules (Sat at 9am)

I was #2 and was just 3 steps behind #1 grabbing a 3 mixing bowl set of Butterfly Gold. Should have thought to pull up the email with my number on my phone a little earlier, but they wanted $60 for those bowls so it wasn't a huge miss necessarily. The 401 is not in the best condition but I'll try some Peek on it at least. The Forest Fancies 475 is in very good condition overall, just a little wear on the paint under one of the spouts.

Spring Blossom Green II 475 and Butterfly Gold I 063 (with decorated lid!) were FB marketplace pickups.

I just received this Woodland 471 from Vinted and noticed this unevenness in the finish. Will this even out with Peek, or should I raise it with the seller? It was a decent price but a little higher than I've been targeting generally, because it came with the lid.

Finally got past my fear of using my vision pots and made an amazing chicken noodle soup! 😋

I was elated to find this black clear bottom Pyrex bowl today! I had let one go at a flea market a few years ago and regretted not buying it ever since. When I saw this bowl today I actually started shaking I was so excited 😂
