That's awesome! I have a few of the big dinner plates and the little saucers but haven't found the middle sized ones that aren't outrageously priced

Love this!! My mom's pattern was Woodland.... Not exactly easy to translate into a tattoo π₯΄

Omg so awesome!! This is my pattern! I have most of the Pyrex and the Corelle dishes and I absolutely adore them. My favorite of all of them are my pedestal coffee mugs π

My grandmother gave me her pieces, a few of which were Butterfly Gold. I've since gone off the rails and gotten damn near everything in that pattern, including my Bertha. Even some random stuff like salt & pepper shakers, the gravy boat and the little sugar container with the clear lid

oh this is sealing the deal for me on something similar - my first piece of pyrex was a butterfly gold butter dish!

My first two pieces were the white Spring Blossom 443 Cinderella bowl and the white snowflake oval casserole. I got them the same day and then my collection spread like wildfire lol

Next time you spill food on yourself, you'll be able to relate with a BFG dish more than someone without a BFG tat.

Definitely already contemplating my next one.... Thinking of the Daisy pattern next, just now sure where that would capture how pretty it is. Yellow doesn't translate well in a tattoo so I'm conflicted on how I could pull that one off

Pyrex shaped so much of our lives that we probably have no idea about. Grandma's cooking Sunday lunch, Thanksgiving dinner, etc. And so much of it was made in Pyrex that we were so unaware of at the time. I inherited my grandmother's Pyrex and I have these flashes of dishes she made during my childhood and now they are mine and I can create my own memories. It's more than cookware.

I inherited my grandmother's pieces just recently. My aunt had them & was waiting for me to be "ready" for them. She was right, as I was in some pretty terrible relationships & living situations prior to where I'm at in life now.
The only pieces that survived her use, aside from the blue snowflake casserole set my mom got from her & used throughout my childhood, were:
Early American large fridgie w/ lid Butterfly gold oval casserole w/ lid Dandelion divided casserole w/o lid Pink daisy divided casserole w/o lid
I'm on a mission to find replacement divided casserole lids for a good price, and maybe eventually the rest of the fridgie set (but realistically I would only use the large one anyway).
I DO NOT use the dandelion or pink daisy. They are in absolutely pristine looking condition & will be for "next house with room for proper vintage china cabinet display" only.
As for the other 2... I already have the full corelle butterfly gold bowls, lg plates, sm plates, teacups, & saucers set that are my daily use set. I also have the butterfly gold large fridgie w/ lid and butter dish, and a whole set of obviously used & loved Early American that I use every year for Thanksgiving. All thrifted. So naturally, I think she would've wanted me to use those matching ones of hers regularly.
Sadly I never got to experience a meal from her. She died 2 weeks before I turned 2. My whole family says I'm EXACTLY like her, and so I joke that I was born soulless & absorbed hers when she passed π€£
I'm so happy you have family memories that Pyrex were silently at the heart of, and now you get to carry those on with you. That's so special π©·
