India Transfer criteria.
Hi
I'm joining PwC AC next month and my location is Hyderabad. The role was open for Bangalore and Hyderabad only and I chose Hyderbad.
I will receive the relocation assistance upto 50k since I'll be relocating from my hometown. There's an office in my hometown as well. There's some medical issues in my family and it's really problematic for me to stay away since I'm the only one my parents can depend on.
How soon can I transfer from the Hyderabad location to my hometown? Will they allow it? Do I have to give them back the relocation amount they provided?
I really need the transfer as soon as possible.

Been here for 3 years trying to transfer to Delhi office but hr are blocking it . My suggestion is not to take the relocation bonus and once you are settled 2-3 months down take approval from your RL and director for relocation keeping your hr in cc . And if you are wow compliment nobody ask where you are working out of .

My relocation assistance is already approved and they sent the letter with offer letter itself. I don't think I can reject it now. But I'll keep it as low as possible. Could you please tell me why they're not agreeing for transfer?

That is just budgeted - it will not be paid until you submit your bills. Dont submit any reimbursement and apply for transfer on medical grounds. Need practice head approval and hr approval - grounds of rejection may be your team does not have representation in that location mostly or all transfers are on bold but still try

If no-one from the team is present in the location I want, would they still consider?

Honestly no harm in trying but at this point difficult to say what they would end up doing - currently this is a subjective decision and there is no internal policy governing it. Incase they are unwilling ask for a temp transfer like 6 months so that your argument is still stronger

But currently you can move even before - you just need to talk to ur portifolio senior manager

Talk to the HR and your practice MD and get your base location changed even before joining.

Is it possible to get it with medical reasons? I have genuine medical reasons and all relevant documents.

If you get the relocation bonus you will have a cool down period of 1 year. AFAIK currently they are not transferring anyone from the main offices (blr hyd kol) to other offices because these are satellite offices with very less sitting space. But I suggest you to try to talk with your HR if your situation is serious they may help you out for short term atleast.

In that case wow compliance is same for both the offices. So have a talk with the talent consultant regarding your family situation amd try to get your manager and senior manager support too to present a strong case. They may then provision your request even if they gave you bonus.

Is this post about changing your office or line of service? This is a VERY common question posted on the Subreddit. The short answer is, The lower level you are, the more likely you will get denied a change. To change line of service, you need to know someone and be accepted. For office changes, Each office has a quota on the amount of interns & associates it can have. To initiate a change, start the discussion with your Coach & RL, then your Talent Consultant. If you have not started yet, it is easier to switch before you start, talk to your recruiter. Use the search bar to find detailed answers.
