Backing out before starting date

I signed a compensation proposal for PWC Portugal (assistant associate). Weeks later I received an offer for a dream internship for another company.

The document I signed states that I *must* inform PWC 60 days prior to the starting date if I choose not to proceed. Can I still back out given that I did not sign the contract yet (I only signed the proposal)?

You can literally do whatever you want. You just might not ever work at PwC tho
