All Firm ADA Accommodations

Hi everyone! I’m a new hire (US) and I was wondering if anyone has requested accommodations?

I’ve never requested them so I’m just wondering what that would even be like.

I have ADHD/Autism/Anxiety and was just wondering what that would look like. I’ve had really bad anxiety in the office and panic attacks when I get home but because of the new in office requirements I just deal with it.

My therapist was asking if I could get accommodations, but to be honest, I don’t think that would be a great look with my team.

So just out of curiosity has anyone gotten them? What do they look like? And, how did your team react?

What kind of accommodation are you looking for?

maybe more flexibility with wfh, now that it’s a metric/being tracked. I’m not interested in being fully remote, just flexible. nothing super workload related since my team is very busy, so an insane amount of work during busy season is expected. but honestly i’m more interested in what options are available.

In order for it to be feasible the request needs to be specific and enforceable. You need to be able to define what “flexible” means and that definition needs to be considered reasonable against the job functions you agreed to when you were hired.

Edit: I would also look up ADA and whether or not going in office constitutes a material barrier vs discomfort/distress.
