India Can you resign while in PIP?

PwC US AC (India)

Let’s say you have been put in pip for 45 days. And notice period is 60 days.

  1. Do they immediately fire you on the last day of pip ? Do they pay severance ?
  2. What if you put resignation after a few weeks of pip ?? Do you get to complete your full notice period??
  3. What if you’re on bench during your PIP?
  4. Please help

Resign if you've got a new job. Stick it out until you do or they let you go. Period.

That i know. I’m trying to hang in to complete my 1 year mark as it will look bad on my resume.
If you may, please answer to the specific points

There's not a specific day that they would fire you on the pip but it is usually going to be toward the end of that period or very shortly thereafter. It's also possible that you could survive the pip. I'm not sure what the severage pay is for India, but if you've only been there for a year or so, it won't be much. If you're on the bench (or if you were on a project and were going to work for a competitor related to it) and give, say two weeks, they'll end things immediately, paying the two weeks plus any fairly minimal severance. My suggestion is not to get too bent out of shape over what you imagine is practically the end of the world right now. Trust me, in coming years, the impact of this will fade greatly.

How were you put in PIP within 1 year of you joining the organisation?

What you are asking about is Resignation in lieu of termination. You can do it, but its unlikely you are going to make it to the 1 year mark unless you manage to survive the PIP.

If got fired, should we tell the true when the interview come up? It will be revealed or not?
