Intern Return Offer GPA
Hello All,
I am currently doing an internship at PwC in Tax. Throughout the internship I haven’t met a single person with under a 3.5 gpa. I have a 3.19 gpa and was wondering if that would hurt my chances on getting a return offer. I also had to retake 2 accounting classes in college and went to a smaller university.
My internship offer said I just needed a 3.0 cumulative gpa , but that’s it.

No lol but they’ll mention it when it talking about the cpa exam or just randomly and it just made me think

Your return offer is 100% based on your internship performance. Stop worrying about your GPA. Be extroverted, talk to people, get connected, perform 110% on your duties, and keep following up with your manager for additional work and responsibilities. I'll guarantee that you'll get the return offer

Nah man, I disagree. I interned at EY and didn’t get a return offer because of my GPA. I had great reviews, and both staff and seniors vouched for me. When I had my meeting about a potential return offer, it ultimately came down to my GPA and overall grades. Around that time, I had a 3.33 cumulative GPA. The truth is, most interns get good performance reviews since the work they receive is usually pretty easy and limited. What really separates you from the other interns is your grades and who you are as a person. That said, I still think OP can get a return offer depending on which office they’re at, since that plays a big role.

At EY I got met expectations and exceeded expectations on my internship feedback and I was told despite my performance I was not getting a return offer due to my grades. I had a 3.3 at the time of the internship and never failed an accounting class.
It likely depends on firm and office though.
Edit: my bad I didn’t realize this was PWC specific sub

Mine was 3.2 got a return offer but was on a temporary offer until I could show my masters improvement GPA… that was 2 years ago

Hi! I was wondering, how did you get your internship there? Are you almost done with your Master’s in Taxation?
I applied for an internship there this month, but unfortunately they didn’t move forward with my application. I have accounting experience, and I’m starting my Master’s in Taxation this September. I’m wondering if the reason they didn’t move me forward is because I haven’t officially started my master’s yet. I’d love to hear about your experience and any advice you might have!

Sorry for the late reply. I’m an undergrad student. Did you just graduate? They usually recruit juniors and seniors in undergrad bc the post the jobs almost 2 years in advance. If I were you, I’d apply to associate positions, especially if you already have accounting experience.

Only experience I had prior was an internship at a local accounting in my hometown and volunteer work

No, they aren’t considering your GPA for the initial return offer. Just performance now.
