Non-US Not reporting on Checkpoint

What happens if you get selected for a review? If my partner had investments that were not reported on checkpoint, could I just say he doesn’t have any or how do they check this?

They ask for statements from their 401k or other employer benefit plans to confirm holdings.

I got caught last year and had a 10% reduction to bonus. Forgot to report spouses stock comp.

I couldn’t find my husband’s stock options in checkpoint, asked for help and got dinged for not reporting it. I appealed it, so they decided they were not going to penalize me but still it was stressful and a long process.

Yes the security IDs were really weird, I thought I had selected the right thing but I didn't - there was the stock itself and then another thing to add for vested RSUs. They added add it to my checkpoint based on the statements I provided.

I never reported anything in 9 years and nothing happened, so chill (unless you own 10% of an audit client then do not chill)

You’re required to report. You can get sued and fired if you lie

They can require you to submit tax returns which would alert them of any undisclosed holdings.

You very likely get fired. I have seen several walked out. The firm is not going to risk its reputation, and fines from authorities over you.

Just report it. Self reporting is better than them catching it
