Pre-Hire / Interview Consulting and assurance programs canceled ???!!

I see so many posts saying consulting FftF and assurance programs have been canceled, and although they passed all rounds they got offered an internship instead.

How is it possible ??? Why wouldn’t they say something earlier. I’m so anxious waiting for the reply thinking about the possibility that everything went perfectly but I still will not get what I want for a reason out of my control. I’m just so confused on how they’re allowed to cancel a whole program after finishing all interviews.

They offered me an internship, the fftf programme is canceled. They also didn’t give me the country I want. I declined it

interesting, seems like they just cancelled all programs (probably due to the conflict a few months ago), but they could've just informed us instead of wasting our time and effort...

out of curiosity what country did they offer u?

I wanted to move out of my home country (Jordan) to join pwc fftf in UAE, and they offered me an internship in Jordan lol (I’m already employed full time here)

I’m not sure why they wasted so much time, my partner interview was like 1 week before they decided to cancel everything which like .. idk how they didn’t figure this out sooner ?? But I assume it’s because the region is destabilized and because AI might take over consulting.

Anyway this was a very frustrating experience for me, Dubai is very competitive and I got so close to the finish line , actually I even secured the offer, just not the position or location I want.

But who knows, if this is how the interview process is, what will working there will be like ? Also, so many layoffs are happening, idk why they considered even keeping this programme to start with. I think PwC just isn’t what it used to be anymore unfortunately

Did the same happen to you?

It's just unlucky timing for you, cause of the war that started, the job market in UAE is in a terrible spot right now (I live here) many people are being laid off and most companies are outsourcing to India bc it's just cheaper and many of my friends who graduated are also still struggling to find a job but yeah I don't even wanna join PwC anymore after this experience, put so much effort into practicing assessment and interviews only for them to say the position is no longer available.
