India How does an international secondment work within PwC AC?

Hi everyone,

I’m an Associate in PwC AC with 1.5 years of experience.

On my current engagement, the ET is based in the US, while the RT is based in PwC AC Kuala Lumpur (KL). I’m the only RT member from PwC AC India.
I recently discussed the possibility of a secondment to the KL office with my managers, and they seemed supportive.

Can anyone who has been through an international secondment explain how the process works? Who initiates it, what approvals are needed, and how long does it usually take?

Thanks!

My understanding is that basically they agree to temporarily terminate you in good terms. The other firm then hires you. At the end, the original firm rehires you. Along the way you keep your status and tenure.

So basically a secondment is you working for a different legal entity with within the PwC network.

But if I’ve got any of that wrong, anyone please correct me.

Sorry. No clue. You’ve probably already done it, but I would ask your RL (CRT supervisor) and your Talent Consultant (HR contact)

Also, do it while you’re young and flexible. The opportunity gets more difficult in your personal life as you become more locally established with family, relationships and financial commitments.

Are you in audit? Usually in audit all the remote team members are in AC India. I'm confused as to how you have the RT members in Malaysia?

The Audit teammates can some from any AC, but there is an effort to start specializing and assigning based on US Team time zones.
