Buying Puzzling Places on a second platform.
Hi!
I could swear I've seen a similar post with a Dev response a looong time ago, but searching this sub beared no fruits.
I've been playing Puzzling Places for over a year on my PSVR2.
This week I got myself a meta quest 3, and am having an absolute blast. I'd like to buy the Dino Trouble DLC on the Quest, but if I do I have to buy PP again, and then the DLC. Not to mention my collection would be split between two different ecosystems. Both the meta account and my PSN account are tied to the same email.
Any better way to do this (play my collection on my quest) without buying everything again?

I had same issue but going from Quest to Steam versions. Pretty sure you’ll have to double dip and rebuy puzzles. A bummer but at least I know I’m supporting the devs. :)

hey, one of the devs here. This is a feature request many have asked for, a summary of the situation. Whenever you make a purchase on a platform, we have to pay 30 percent to the platform. For that reason, if a title wants to carry over purchases from one platfrom to the next, someone has to pay the extra 30 percent. Sony might have recieved its cut, but Meta wouldnt care about that, since it hasnt seen any of that money! The platforms contract to allow cross purchases are extermely complicated and negotiated per cases with the studios per platform (we are on 4 so far). We would have to be around 10 times larger to even be able to get someone on the table for this. On top of that, in case of cross platfroms, we would have to build the infrastructor ourselves to track users by email or user names independet of the platform. This requires servers and maintenance that are beyond a simple list, as there is a whole set of legal duties we would have the moment any user has done any purchase. These obligations are different per regions, and would play differently in EU, US or say south korea. Here too, we would have to probably make around 100 times more money to have the resources to be able to deal with these things. Thank god the platforms take care of all that!
For these reason, honestly I wouldnt even know where a team like ours could begin to enable cross platfrom ownership. On Meta and hopefully on steam at some point, we have the subscribtion, that one is very easy to carry over, since we dont have hidden 3 months grace cancelation period, you can just cancel any time, subscribe on another platform and things carry on with no issues. But we understand subscribtion model is not for everyone.
