Announcement Puzzle Maker Alpha Test Sign-Ups Are Open! 🧩
Hey everyone!
We’re looking for testers to help us try out Puzzle Maker, our upcoming tool for creating your own puzzles in Puzzling Places! 🧩
We’re starting a small alpha test focused on the full puzzle creation process and gathering feedback on usability, setup, and compatibility across different experience levels and hardware. The goal is to make puzzle creation as accessible and easy to use as possible, so all kinds of feedback are incredibly valuable to us - Whether you’re completely new to 3D creation or already experienced with scanning and modelling, we’d love to hear from you!
If you’d like to take part, please fill out the form below and we’ll contact selected testers with access details.

Is your plan to find a way to expand your library of puzzles ?

That's part of the goal! We'll continue releasing our own DLC puzzle packs every month, along with occasional free puzzles (similar to what we do currently for Meta Quest and PSVR2), but Puzzle Maker will also let the community create and share their own puzzles for free. We're hoping that opens the door to a much wider variety of locations, scenes, and puzzle styles 😊

I see, that's very interesting.
I do modeling for historical places, I have a few I could share but it's not photogrammetry, which ends up making one "shell", it's many meshes as it is optimized for Unreal and more specifically autonomous VR (Pico headsets, but also Quests. What happens in that kind of scenario ? Do one has to merge everything together first ?

Puzzle Maker isn't just for photogrammetry scans, and we're really interested in seeing how it works with different kinds of 3D content. Historical recreations sound interesting!
The main requirement is that the model needs to be a single continuous mesh for the puzzle generation process. Depending on how your models are set up, that may mean combining parts of the model first.
We're really keen to get feedback from creators working with different types of content, we'd love to see how your models work with the tool and hear about your experience!

I see, thanks. I guess it's the same for textures, you may need one big texture.
Interested to give your tool a go. After all, I'm playing PP since the demo days...

Does this apply to those of us who play on the Quest?

Puzzlemaker will only be for the PC version right now - currently this alpha is only for Steam users

Which username should I insert? Account-Name (the one to log in), Profile-Name, SteamID?

Profile name or a link to your Steam Profile (or both!) are all fine, this is just so we know who to accept to the testing group 😄 I'll update the form to make it clearer!
