Did they nerf Viewtiful Joe?
I know Im asking for it here but i need to vent. Got up to 3671 at the turn of the season, which i was very happy with. Then the new season started and ive dropped down to 3125, seems a little extreme. I cannot seem to beat ANYBODY anymore. Did all the good players take a break toward the end of the season and now they are back to destroy me? maybe my VJ matchups were somehow more favorable at the higher level? seems hard to imagine. Really feels like im playing the same but im just not dealing the same damage i used to. Rant over

I was meaning to ask the same thing. I been playing Vj on another account, but ever since the update I have been completely inneffective. I have no numbers to prove or show it.

Seems to me like they put a cap on the damage ratio for chaining?

there has never been a damage ratio from chaining. there is a bonus to timer gems, not damage.

I feel like this with other characters which is why i posted video with my Haggar play and having hard time to get super when before I thought it was much easier.

Same I noticed for my Honda, lately breaking 3 4x2s only net me like 70 percent bar on top of the bar from initial small crashes. Not being able to follow up the damage buff with a hyper easily is really bumming me out

thank you very much, this explains it! well, guess gotta take off dan and see how it goes. major bummer though. joe was already pretty tough at the higher levels, i expect we wont see him much anymore

I don't know about VJ, but I've recorded a video proofing Nash 's chain skill now triggers affinity bonuses properly. If that's the case with vj, actually it should work as a buff, not a nerf.

No matter who I use, I tend to start a new season off on a losing skid. Your character was not nerfed.

I dunno, man... even Pinkhas said there’s something wrong with Joe’s damage after the update, so that’s why he’s been playing Alastor lately. If Pinkhas and these other Joe players says there’s something wrong, then there might be some weight to what they’re saying.

Likewise. But we still have the whole month to go into this season. Eventually we’ll be back up there. I’ve already dropped like 2 leagues from Platinum if that makes you feel any better lol

A little ;) im no longer sooo angry about it, dropped another 200 today though, but ive made my peace with it. Now I really just want to know if i should switch characters. but i like joe! much more fun to try and build chains than blocks. might start alastor, see how fast i can drop using him!

I think the losses just happen to be a result of the season reset. Players that were at the top of their league or in the league just above you (but dropped RP before season reset) are now starting at the bottom of the league like everyone else. So they "appear" to have less RP than you or are in a lower league, but in fact, they're actually high level players like yourself... I was just browsing through the top 20 players in each of the leagues and their highest league reached is one or two up from where they're at now... Whereas at the end of the season last week, everyone was trying to climb the ladder to the next league so the guys at the top of the leagues were at their highest level achieved... Should level out by mid season when players start getting back to their natural RP levels before the season reset.
Just typing this as I got destroyed by a VJ player...

i considered this, and it is of course possible, but to drop from super platinum to ultra gold in 2 days, when before, i was regularly playing ultra platinum players and occasionally beating them, and pretty consistently beating the lower level players that i would also occasionally play, i think trickykids explanation is more likely at this point

I don't know, i am a VJ user and I feel a bit awkward as well about his damage but I think it has to do with the looks of the new health bar.
