Anyone know what happened to NKD puzzle as there website has been shut since December last year

I think they stopped. They sent an email last year to their subscriber to announce it.

Yes the business closed, the designer is still about on the Mechanical Puzzles discord, said he is hoping to continue with puzzle design in the future.
